Hey everyone,

Techpowerup I seek your wisdom. I cannot decide which ultrabook I should buy on my own. I will be using this computer for school. I will mostly use word and I might play some light games such as overwatch and league of legend. Thanks for any help you could provide. Btw I wasn't sure if this was the right place to make this thread and I'm sorry if it isn't. I could not find a laptop section on my own.

I am not sure how much milage you will get out of the zenbook's 940m in more recent games like overwatch, but it should be golden in older games like league. I would be skeptical of being able to run overwatch on the Dell just because of it's integrated graphics. Also, the Asus is a higher end laptop than the Dell. (Actually that is a similar SKU to what i was looking at instead of my gl551) I would say Asus. Also, you got the links backwards.

The dell xps 13 is really good for school related stuff (what i would buy). It has a long battery life and good build quality. Idk how well either of those two run games, but if you're in the US and go to Costco, you can try one out there at a decent price. I would skip a gaming laptop for school stuff (too heavy, bad battery life, etc.) And get the xps 13.

Edit: guess your in Canada. It's going to be a better school laptop the dell but you'll only get like 40fps on overwatch at low. Guess it's school vs games

Ummm, you have your links crossed. The ASUS goes to Dell and the Dell goes to ASUS.

In "general", I prefer ASUS over Dell.

"Specifically", that ASUS has an i7, the Dell an i5 and the ASUS comes with 12GB of RAM while the Dell only 8GB. And the ASUS comes with a 512GB SSD while the Dell just 256GB. The ASUS specifies it comes with the "Discrete GPU Nvidia GT940M" while the Dell just says vaguely "Intel HD Graphics.

The choice is a no-brainer for me.
