I have a nice couch and I have to say, playing on my game chair is more comfortable than sitting on my super comfortable couch, because it's made for gaming whereas my couch obviously isn't. :p PC gaming will always be better than console gaming because it's much more specialized and higher spec. That said, I'm not saying consoles are crap, but I'd mainly buy them for exclusives and that's it. The Xbox X (silly name much?) and PS4 Pro don't look bad spec wise, I think the XBox One was a mess hardware wise, they corrected that now.

Thanks to miners and ports it makes zero sense to get a PC for gaming currently. Maybe when Star Citizen is done ill come back. Until then I'll enjoy the games instead of ports.

That's because you play the wrong games. Give me a shoutout when Stellaris, Aurora and Dwarf Fortress makes it to Xbox.

With the creators edition on Xbone the only thing stopping that from happening is the devs... literally
Anyone can bring any app to the Microsoft store...just like Google play now.

I still prefer to play certain games on PC... But once I have kb/m support via streaming to PC I'm out....

Xbone streams very good to PC

I don't need no stinking evidence. It's not hard to see the graphics are mediocre and performance abysmal. The 2 combined mean very poor optimization, and it's not like that is surprising coming from Capcaom. I'm sorry, but I'm not about to try and prove the obvious for a few whom can't see what is plain as day. I also don't see the point of your defending them since you're complaining about poor performance more than anyone here.
Got it. No evidence. Just feelings.

Would you make that same observation about Crysis?
If you mean original Crysis, no. For one it's graphics are still very high end today, save for maybe NPC faces, and a few objects inside huts. The only reason a lot of people claimed it was coded horribly is because it was very advanced for it's time, and despite the devs including a full suite of cvars to tweak settings, most didn't bother taking the time to read guides on how to use them. TweakGuides had a very good tutorial on it though, which I followed diligently and ended up coming up with a crucial tweak of my own. That's why I was able to run it at 1200x900 at med shaders and shadows, with max textures, on a mere P4 single core CPU and GTS 250 at plenty playable frame rates with no glaring popins.

Again, Crysis 1 was very advanced for it's time, too advanced for the average gamer to comprehend. Plus it didn't help that the Yerli bros were horrible at communicating things to their fans, which is why they overreacted to the complaints about Crysis and started making the settings over simplified presets.

IMO, one of the best things about PC gaming has always been the ability to mod, but many devs are starting to take that away. Crysis 2 was not only dumbed down in settings, but graphic quality as well. It ran on lower spec, but those whom knew how could easily make Crysis 1 run as well and look much better than Crysis 2 with just a few tweaks.

My tweak btw ended up being using a customized Low setting on Object Quality, but without foreground textures being blurred and their detail drawing in as you approach, and objects like beach rocks popping in right in front of you. It took over an hour of trial and error testing to find out exactly which command I needed to keep high.

That way you get most of the performance benefit of Low Object Quality, without the tradeoff of a blurred until you approach foreground and objects popping into view, the latter of which can actually make even good size rocks that enemies take cover behind invisible, making combat difficult.

I also don't recall one person that tried my tweak saying it didn't help performance quite a bit without visual tradeoffs. That said, the game WAS still demanding on lower spec like mine. Things went well when using stealth, but if a big fight broke out, the framerate would drop to 25 FPS or even less sometimes. I preferred to use stealth anyway. Crysis 1 is a game that can run well on fairly low FPS, because the FPS stay in a tight window vs fluctuating way up and down, but you don't want to drop to 25 or less in heavy combat.

If we're going to call Crysis 1 badly coded just for having advanced graphics for it's time, we may as well say the same of Doom 3, which had a highest setting that was for GPUs that didn't even have enough VRAM at the time the game launched. These were both just games that were ahead of their time. I look back at games like those and feel most aren't made like they used to be. The one hope I have is that more devs will use Vulkan, because I think the new Doom has proven it's the best API for getting good graphics and performance even on mediocre spec.

Pre-Ordering mine today
I'd like to say I preordered mine today too but I didn't because I don't have to, luckily where I live I won't have to worry about it, there's going to be lots of stock before Christmas and I'm super super stoked on getting the new Xbox x :)

the only good thing about Crytek were the RARE guys that worked on the Timesplitters series. Crytek didn't do crap with that IP :(

A roll? More like a consoles rule diatribe. I can only respond to this one way, once you learn how to use the big boy toys, then you'll understand. Yes, there are indeed some things beyond our control regarding how PC games are made, mostly because so many people like you take the easy way out and succumb to consoles. They're like cell phones. You get the hardware end of it very cheap, but pay for it in the price of the service (games).

Crysis isn't badly coded, save for their decision to lump some effects together leaving you unable to individually adjust them. With a little know how, Crysis runs quite well for it's stellar graphics, and I can't help but think the console crowd thinking otherwise ought to stick to consoles and stop trying to convince real PC players they're better, because clearly they can't handle the more advanced learning curve of a higher end product.
