AMD announced today they are bringing multi-GPU support for RX Vega 64 and RX Vega 56 with their upcoming Radeon Crimson ReLive Edition 17.9.2 drivers. This CrossFire support is for two GPUs only, so it appears AMD is going on the same path as NVIDIA in not having official support for three or more GPUs, which by itself is a point of discussion. Note that these drivers are not out yet, and this announcement serves to alert the user base to what is coming up.

AMD also provided a (low resolution, we are working on a suitable replacement) internal result chart comparing gaming performance with average FPS as the metric, for two RX Vega 64 cards relative to one. We see very impressive scaling in some games such as Far Cry Primal, Metro Last Night Redux, Sniper Elite 4, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt a performance increase of more than 80 percent compared to the single GPU performance. As usual, take these numbers as an indication of how things go since we do not have more details available on the testing methodology at this point either. Lastly, no word yet on what else has changed with these drivers but hopefully AMD have addressed the ongoing bugs with Overwatch at the very least.

Would be cool (obviously not literally) if ASUS bring out another ARES card :D

I would not be surprised to see a dual RX Vega Nano card to come alongside RX Vega Nano when it is released.

Well, if AMD is really planning to pull multiGPU Navi cards in the future, they certainly have to work on maximizing scaling factor. The higher, the better as stitching more GPU's together will need this. I wonder if Infinity Fabric they were also mentioning with RX Vega is doing any of this or is it just "plain" CrossX...

That it was expected , according to the GPU's calculating power, and just like with the mainers drivers wich have set up Vega on the top. We can say that only now has Vega the basic driver releaset. Vega is actually now ready to sell ,at last ,the last delay.

I kinda hope in a future redesign of the whole multi-gpu concept, which in AMD's case i imagine based upon their infinity-fabric. That's maybe the reason behind the current reduction of support of current multi-gpu implementation in modern game engines. next multi-gpu will be agnostic towards number of graphics cards

And what power supply suppose to be used in such build?

Nothing out of the ordinary, contrary to what you are alluding to.

750-850w, which is not too odd for a dual high end gpu box.

QFT, Vega wouldn't be that power hungry, had they not positioned it against the GTX1080 ... therefor dual Vega undervolted and underclocked would be power hungry as any other dual gpu card before

You do realize that infinity fabric doesn't work like Crossfire correct? Just like on Ryzen, if AMD does bring it to GPUs the computer will see the multiple dies as a single GPU, not multiple. Crossfire is completely irrelevant to Infinity fabric.

Interesting, but good luck finding a second Vega for a reasonable price. Hopefully they continue the single GPU optimization because this architecture has room to grow.

Worthless. Multigpu is dead b/c devs are lazy.

Enable all of the disabled crap and quit screwing off.

So I enabled crossfire on my 2 x V64s and after a reboot, the two cards' Wattman settings were no longer visible and I could only see a control panel that looked like a single card.

The HBCC option was also "vanished".

Timespy reported a shade under 12000, 11970 or something like that FWIW.

This is with 1 x Sapphire AC and 1 x Sapphire LC, no tuning, undervolting or otherwise and stock "balanced" setting in Wattman,
