An in detail view of my gaming setup so far. Just want to see your guys' opinion, and how I can cut corners with not too much performance damage.
Desk - Ikea MALM Desk w/ Pullout Panel: Why am I showing off my desk? Idk, but it is a really good desk for a setup and cable control: http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/60214183/ (Canada Link) (Carry Over)
Case - Phanteks Eclipse P400 Black, Tempered Glass: Nice case with a tempered glass panel.
Case Lighting - NZXT Hue+: Got one for a nice deal not a long time ago, so I might as well put it to use.
Processor - Intel Core i5 7600k: It was a hard call to make - to wait for the new processors or go with the 7th gen one. I'm sure this Kaby Lake i5 @ 3.8 ghz will serve me more than enough. I don't think I'm going to downgrade to a 7600, but I'm thinking about it. No overclocking intended, btw.
Cooling - Hyper 212 Fan: Cheap, and effective.
Motherboard - H110 Chipset: Most mobos are good enough, and I'm only using 2 sticks of RAM, so this should be good enough.
RAM - 2x8GB DDR4 RAM @ 2133Mhz: Just some standard RAM, no need for any fancy RGB G.Skill RAM.
SSD - Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD: Already asked TPU if 240gb is enough, so I went ahead with it, but 10gb extra.
HDD - 1TB WD Blue: I won't be needing anything more than that.
GPU - Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060-6GB: Enough said?
PSU - EVGA 500 Watt 80 Plus: My system is under 500W, so this is good enough. I am trying to save money.,
OS - Windows 10: whats even the point of a pro version?
Mouse - Deathadder Elite: Great ergonomics, pairs with my keyboard, durable, and side buttons. All I need.
Keyboard - Razer Ornata Chroma: Membranes are kind of my thing, and so are those Razer wrist rests. Definitely cheaper than some Blackwidow, too.
Monitor - Acer 21.5 1080p HD Montior: Used the monitor before, enough graphics quality and size for me, and my desk. I might upgrade to dual or even triple monitors in the future, but nowhere soon. One is enough.
Conclusion:
And that's my full setup, or at least the essentials of it. No point in including what I use for my cable control, or speakers, etc. Total price is almost 1.9k in CAD plus shipping and everything (not shipping all parts). Anyways, opinion? Any way to save money, and neccessary or worthwhile upgrades?
Thanks,
CanadianGamer
