You're hitting a GPU bottleneck with a GTX 1080.
Here's an average of many games (to remove bias) with a GTX 1080ti:

Ryzen already bottlenecks a 1080ti. And what happens when Volta comes out? You'll need that Coffee Lake medication to keep up.

You mean this one ?

1080p? Too bad the 1080 Ti isn't really meant for 1080p gaming, and at 1440p/4K Ryzen is just barely slower, because demand is higher on GPU then again.

Those are with a GTX 1080 where GPU bottleneck tend to occur. A 1080ti gets bottlenecked by Ryzen. It's no surprise that even the Radeon team used a 7700k to demonstrate Vega's graphical prowess instead of their very own CPUs. Maybe you should've used Hardware Unboxed as a reference when you tryna defend AMD since they're a well known bias site.

AMD used Intel CPUs for Vega because Vega simply works better with less cores that have higher IPC. Nvidia drivers are more refined and make use of more cores, hence why they run very good with Ryzen as well. I also think AMD wanted to show maximum performance / take no risks, Ryzen would've slighlty reduced performance at least.

I thought this was a news web site, not "we're AMD's fanboys" website.

Also, as much as people love to tout Zen CPUs, their IPC is not yet there, their OC'bility is nowhere and their top frequences are lacking. If you're not in a content creation business, you'll be better served by Intel.

This is a monumentally silly thing to say. He said Ryzen was "unexpectedly successfull", which is a true enough statement as the term "success" is about context and the context is probably market share (increasing compared to before Ryzen) and performance (generally competitive). That is all he said, not God Emperor AMD, master of all creation, made Ryzen, which is our Lord and Saviour the Christ of the LORD.

Tangential is how utterly fascinating it is how everyone is divided on everything these days, not just politcal matters. Someone said America is so divided you don't listen to the other part even if they agree with you, and this is echoed across the world in essentially every field.

I think people are especially overburdended by the Internet and what it does to you - make your life faster every day. It also means people have less sleep, less time to think about themselves, less time to concentrate on the really important things, etc. In the end, the world we're living in now, is very complicated and needs simplification, more concentration on whats really important and less concentration on many things that are popular in the net now. /sorry for offtopic

AMD is selling a GPU for all computers not just AMD CPU based and the same goes for their CPUs.

No one is defending anything. Stick to facts and sources rather then these silly dramatic cheerleading.

Haha. This is small time. You should see wccftech. The first hundred posts are usually memes with another hundred arguing unrelated topic and then another hundred showing off their computers. If you're lucky you may spot one or two readable comments in that sea of junk.

On TPU it is atleast somewhat civilized even when not completely on topic.

Yeah, I'm still wondering how many of the 1080 Ti owners use it for 1080P gaming. Even the 1080 is not for FHD.

I thought this was a news web site, not "we're AMD's fanboys" website.

Also, as much as people love to tout Zen CPUs, their IPC is not yet there, their OC'bility is nowhere and their top frequences are lacking. If you're not in a content creation business, you'll be better served by Intel.
You know what a new 6 or 6+ core -X Intel CPU does when overclocked? Gets hot. Very hot. You can OC them by about 400 MHz. You can do that with a 1600 or 1700 to. So what the heck are you talking about.

Maybe you should've used Hardware Unboxed as a reference when you tryna defend AMD since they're a well known bias site.
Hell yeah, they are biased... wake up now.

I am afraid you are mistaken. The 7700k gets an average of 20% more fps in games than the 1600x.

Here is a review from 2 months ago.
Wonder why nearly every review site used the 1080 at tests. Maybe it is more likely they will use it with a 1070 or 1080 than a 1080Ti? Anyway, The 1600 is about 11-12% slower than the 7700K and costs nearly 50% less.

Will ryzen @4ghz bottleneck 1080 (ti) or vega @1660mhz noticeably at 1440p with g-sync/freesync? Might not be able to get 8700k or even 8600k if this is true and I can always upgrade to the next zen cpu and x470 later I suppose, so ryzen might be my best bet.

Just compare FHD-1440P reviews of CPUs. The more the resolution is, the more important the GPU gets. It won't bottleneck them.

I linked to the more recent one because AMD fans don't believe in the first reviews of Ryzen as legitimate. While you cherry pick results showing Battlefield 1 over and over again.

Why would you care what AMD fans think when your out to prove

I am afraid you are mistaken. The 7700k gets an average of 20% more fps in games than the 1600x.

Here is a review from 2 months ago. Look at the graphs.

http://www.pcgamer.com/amd-ryzen-threadripper-1950x-1920x-review/

Looks to me it was the only situation where that claim could be meet. When certain factors are meet. Would that not meet the definition of cherry picking more so then just showing links to what the majority of reviewers concluded ?

We should all move to Amazon & start living with the native tribes, in the meantime drop your consoles or PC to the nearest orphanage or govt school, also start practicing yoga till you reach Brazil.

Yeah this is an age of information overload, too bad the politicians & their sponsors i.e. corporations, only care about themselves!
