Help with internet provider if possible

I’m not sure if this is a place to ask this but I tried everything to get cox cable to come out and install new internet for me but they keep saying I can’t get it but it’s funny my whole street has cox and both of my next door neighbors have it and there cable box is in my yard so why the hell not. Could there be any reason why I can’t get it or what I can say to get them to come out to my address I’m not sure if y’all can answer it or not just trying to know wtf is up with that. Any advice y’all can give me will help. My house location ain’t grate for satellite tv and internet.

I assume there is a cox "ped" in your yard, as you say there is the box. Take a picture of it with your house in the background, and take it to social media. Sounds like you keep getting idiots via the phone line.

I'm sure that's what I am thinking I had to tell them and explain to them I can get it installed but they wont do anything. they do have a office 20 miles down the road from me so I take a pic of the box and bring it there

I never had a cable installed to my house from the cable box it just sounds like to me they don't want to do it.
could it be that I am not the home owner I still live with my mom and dad but pay rent maybe I should get my dad to call I wont think if you give them the address it will show the home owners name

Back into that "box" with a tractor, and when they come out to fix it, don't let them on the property.

If your address is not in their zone they may not be allowed to give you service.
Even if everyone around you had their service.

If it's because you are not the owner they should ask for you to get the owners written consent.

I get my dad to call them and talk to them maybe he can do something since its under his name or ask my neighbors wifi password and pay them monthly lol I can pick up there wifi

the only thing really to do is keep calling cox till I get a person that will know what the hell I am trying to explain to them or wait and see if Verizon will ever offer a 4g unlimited hotspot plan but that wont happen with Verizon is never.

Never had a problem getting cable to install to a rental. Of course I never had a company with a cable so close tell me they couldn't install it either

the only time ive ever heard of a company not being able to do an install , or service hook up is when the fiber or broadband cable wasnt in place. i used to live in a very fancy neighborhood, but it was purposely isolated, and my buddy who lived about an 1/8th of a mile down the road was quoted over $10,000 to have the internet/cable hooked up to his home, since the company hadnt made their lines down to that part of the road yet, but i had service..

yea that's also the thing I never had cable installed in the first place but I just dont see why they cant since the cable box is in my yard next to the road and I checked both my next door neighbors have cox installed my whole street haves it. I can pick up just about all the houses Wi-Fi around me that's how close the houses are together

It very likely could be that there isn't the space in the box to connect you. And not just the physical space, IE an open port, but also the bandwidth as well. ISPs do this all the time. When they put the PED in for the neighborhood, it has a certain number of hook-ups, usually about half of the number of lots of land in areas with another major telco/isp competitor. They feed to the PED also has a limited amount of bandwidth it can provide. Once the PED is sold out, they won't do any more hookups. And since it costs a considerable amount of money to put another PED in, or to upgrade the PED that is already there, they won't likely do that unless they have a very significant demand for it in an area. They aren't going to do it for one or two customers, they'll never see a return on investment.

So don't assume that they are just trying to screw you. Companies rarely just turn away business for the hell of it.

maybe I should bust open the cable box and see what's there and that will get them to come down lol. this is what I found online. that's what the one in my yard looks like and that's maybe the problem is there's no way to hook it up.

Btw to everyone else, Coax companies call those pedastals TAPS, it could be that tap doesnt have any spares left...

Yeah that Tap doesnt have any free ports.

By the way, todays telco/cableco do what is called FTTN.

Unless there is no utility services to the property at all, there is always an easement.

If you live in a city there sure is. It's in your tax agreement. There is also a sidewalk easement.

My dad does easements for Verizon so he should know a little about it. At first a few years ago I called them and they said yes I can get it installed at my address you just need to get a easement but now they just seemed to replace the smart people with stupid people with no knowledge whatsoever about what I’m trying to explain to them
