After weeks of researching around and evaluating a lot of stuff, i have finally picked the parts required to build my PC. This will serve as my work and gaming pc for the NEXT 3 ~ 5 YEARS to come by, without any other planned future upgrades.

I am an application developer and i'll be spending my evenings and weekends playing games.

Am submitting the parts for a final review before buying. Suggestions are welcomed. Thank you.

NOTE 1 - These are not the exact prices and places i am buying my stuff from, Its just a display of the list of parts i have chosen/available to me, the actual prices where i buy vary a lot. :)

NOTE 2 - The case is actually different This is the case i'll be buying. Since i could not find it on partpicker.

The 212 Evo is to big for the Spec-Alpha. 212 Evo has a height of 159mm, the Spec-Alpha supports only up to 156mm. Alternative would be the Cryorig H7 / Quad Lumi (Height 145 mm), the Thermalright Macho 120 SBM (Height 150mm) or the Scythe Mugen 5 (Height 155mm).

also, Intel CPUs now much hotter than amd: lesser heat dissipating zone under metal heat spreader, IMO your CPU will always be like 75-80C on air cooling

Asthetically, I don't care much for that case, but to each his own :)

If you really like Corsair's cases, I would go with the Air540, which is excellent in so many ways (my opinion here is slightly biased, since I am currently using one).

Even though I have used a 212 evo in the past, I really, really, really did not like that huge hunk of fins staring at me through my window. So I switched to an AIO liquid setup and it looks soooo much cleaner....

The rest of your rig looks pretty solid and should last you for several years, good luck with it :D

Yes but i have seen the review video where the 212 fits perfectly in the case.

Here's the video review

AIO for what exactly ? i am using a non K chip and basic cheapest GTX 1080 Ti on the market :). As much as i wish i get prettier looking stuff, its just too expensive and cant afford it :) Maybe in the next build.. Hopefully

Its not that i like that case or anything, its just happens to be the cheapest case i can find with decent direct airflow path with dust filters. I personally dont like that case, but yea tight on budget and have to go for functionality than looks. i was looking at that Air 540 but its too boxy and wont fit on my table.

Also that 212 Evo is a left over from my previous build, its nothing new. Since i am going for a non K chip i though its going to do better than intel stock cooler and i just have it lying around anyway.

I wouldn't be getting a 5400rpm drive these days. Look for a 7200rpm.

Not even for just storage? i got other drives where i work on and its just as a redundant backup drive.
Last 5400rpm drive I used was horrid even for storage. I mean it could get by as a backup drive but those backups are gonna take a while.

Why not Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ? Around same price with the ALC1220 codec and intel lan.

How about a RyZen? Similar gaming performance, lower platform cost, better productivity performance and ability to upgrade CPU for multiple gens down the road.
