Crytek have announced a partnership with CRYCASH, an independent decentralized ecosystem of products for gamers fueled by an all-new, gamer-centric cryptocurrency. CRYCASH will be launching with a token sale from December 12th 2017 to January 15th 2018.

"Our motto is creating products which let gamers and developers make more from their passion. The CRYCASH ecosystem solves two problems at once: it gives gamers a way to monetize game time by completing in-game tasks, set by game developers, while providing developers with decentralized sales options for games and other virtual items," explained Wachtang Budagaschwili, CRYCASH CEO. "CRYCASH will consist of four major components: Plink, a communications app for gamers and CRYCASH wallet; an advertising platform; an eSports platform for gaming tournaments and other events; and a virtual asset marketplace."

Crytek will be the first games company to partner on the project, and as part of the endeavor, will be adding CRYCASH payment options to their products where suitable, starting with CRYENGINE and Warface Turkey.

"It has always been our goal as a company to bring boundary-pushing games and innovative new tech to the marketplace, and after almost two decades in the industry, we are intimately familiar with the kind of problems that gamers and game developers face in the industry marketplace," said Managing Director Faruk Yerli. "We see a lot of potential in the CRYCASH concept, and we were impressed by the CRYCASH team's innovative approach to creating practical products and tools for gamers."

CRYCASH (CRC) will start its token sale on December 12, 2017, 19:00 UTC, and run it through January, 15, 2018, 18:59 UTC. Early birds will receive a 15% bonus within the first 120 hours of the token sale. Then the bonus amount melt by 1% each 24 hours until 18:59 UTC on December 31, 2017. The initial price is set 0.001 ETH per 1 CRC. There's a 20% 'big fish' bonus throughout the whole token sale for those willing to contribute 200+ ETH. Currencies accepted: BTC, ETH, BCH, LTC, DASH. All contributors will receive a chance to be the first to test Plink - the revolutionary application for gamers.

Hey, hey Crytek.
Shut the hell down already. Go, and absolutely #@$% yourselves at this point. Just, do as planned and get bankrupted already.

Right? Crytocurrencies are not inherently bad. They're just too damn new and unstable. It's a bubble that will pop. Best rule of thumb, don't invest anything you're not willing to lose.

Crytek is like a train wreck in slow motion imo. They jumped the tracks after Crysis 1 and they are still failing hard.

The only problem with these things is if they tempt people with good offers that benefit them.
"Buy now to get faster leveling item, or heavy damage for 5 days."
Tempting offers that no one has to buy but they succeed, I would assume.

No different from Free-to-Play games with micro-transactions. People would spend over $1000 on items over the years and they feel that they are supporting the game developers, so let's compare this to a $60 game(I don't know if Warface is) and still support the developers by pumping them more money. I guess they find World of Warcraft justifiable to have these things since WOW gets monthly subscriptions? I'm just throwing a bunch of ponders.

I am not mentioning "that"(rumor mill) website but they had an article that a developer stated that games are becoming more expensive to make so it is justifiable to do the micro-transactions or Loot Boxes/Crates/whatever.
I'm not okay with the "Let them have it their way, just don't buy it and done." We can't cure cancer if we let it stay.

Publishers aren't going to come right out and say why the microtransactions and loot boxes are going to become commonplace even in single player games but it's obvious that there is a huge amount of money to be made. Look at League of Legends. Last year they took in 1.7 billion dollars in microtransactions. 1.7 f'ing billion dollars in just one year. There is the obvious risk that F2P games will become more pay to win but I don't play those games. The thing that will affect me though is if Developers start deliberately making single player games have more grinding to the point where you might want to pay for some microtransactions to bypass the boring grinding. I've already made my mind up that if some Developers go that route then I will not support them with additional money from microtransactions. I will just use a trainer to skip the grinding. I checked into one site that offers lifetime membership for $100 and since I usually play around 15 new games a year then it will be much cheaper over the years to go that route instead of paying for microtransactions anyway. But it will suck if I am forced to cheat just to keep a game from bogging down with boring grinding. I hope it doesn't go that way but we'll see.

Games are becoming more expensive to make but games are selling more copies than they used to also so the profit is still there for the Publisher especially if they can get you to buy it from their site instead of Steam since Valve takes a 30% cut on every game sold.

The FLOGGERS ARE COMING! THE FLOGGERS ARE COMING!

I think its funny, very strong opinions are "gaming". But crypto, not so much? People's computers are being used by china(probably to gain world dominance)and it is pure gambling/speculation, yet the floggers don't care?

I don't blame you. They both started out with so much promise and they have just pissed it away. Far Cry 1 and Crysis 1 were amazing games and they showed the talent that Crytech was capable of but then they just unravelled into mediocrity. Shut down some of their studios and several times couldn't pay some of their employees for several months.

Chris Roberts started off with a great vision for a game that was very much wanted by millions of people. He has the talent and creativity necessary to pull it off but he's lost his way over the years and now he denies the very thing that is hurting this project "Feature Creep". You can't fix a problem that you don't believe exists to begin with.

Advancement creep is how we got to the moon and how we gonna get to mars.
This kind of project has to be done. 2017 may not be the year, but the near future will...

Well, really, the Cold War was the impetus to get to the moon first and it was fast-tracked by billions of government dollars and done relatively quickly to boot. We may some day put human boot prints on Mars but the costs are staggering and the time it would take to get there and back with present technology is also a concern.

That's the risk you take when you pirate a game. Nitwits..
Let alone that free games are being given away for legit clients (Steam, Humble Bundle, Origin, Uplay, etc.), if they just follow that stuff, their library will grow heavily, so no more needing to pirate with the load of games they can play.
