So how long did you get from your last mouse?

My First lazer mouse lasted me from 2006ish I think till 2016 before the cable started to split apart. so 10yrs ish I guess.

My last mouse, a Tt level 10M is still going strong o my kids PC. I upgraded to a razor diamond back chroma cause I found it on a buy and sell for $60 cad bnib. I'm pretty easy on my kb/m ever since I stopped eating around them

my mouse history sins 2005 LT MX518 stopped clicking in 2009-10, bought the LT G500 still working, but my hand "changed" in 2017H2 (stupid hand), looked at the LT G502 but was to small (same issue as the G500), so i got a bigger mouse (Cheap ISh 100$ china local store branded one) worked for 2 months ( Clicking issue), Looked at the G502 AGAIN..... LT MAKE A BIGGER VERSION!!!!! bought a turtlebeach grip arena MMO and it is working grate so fare...

I can't recall having any issues with mice but then again I replace them very often, maybe once in 2 years ... sometimes more often. I still have an old A4tech Bloody V7 that I rarely use on my laptop, this is probably 6 years old now and it's still working fine, the rubber coating is peeling off a bit but it comes with the age )

For my main desktop over the last 10 years I've only had 2....
My beloved OCZ Behemoth and currently a e3lue better than Razor imitation Razor...
I have other really good mice too but I like really big mice.... That are flat but chunky on the rear and wide enough for the rest of my hand but still easy to grab.

Been using a G900 since end of 2016, works just as well as the day I bought it.
It looks like Logitech is definitely dominating here

2 years before its scroll-wheel gave out (middle-click wouldn't work, it wouldn't precisely scroll). I think they really need to work on making scroll-wheels and middle-click buttons as durable as the main buttons.

I agree with you on that one. The scroll wheel is (often) a wheel and in the center it has a little axle (made of plastic) on one side it connects to a brace ,and on the other side connects to a click counter ,( this is where one side of the scroll wheel axle connects so when you spin the wheel it knows you're spinning it). Somewhere in there is also the middle mouse button click sensor switch. If users were able to remove the middle mouse button/scroll wheel ,and replace that little axle ,it would make mice last as long as the switches do, because when you notice your scroll wheel stops clicking when you spin it ,it's either the axle has sheared off ,or its connection at the click counter is broken. The steelseries sensei actually makes it really tough , the axle is part of the actual scroll wheel, so I guess you could just replace the scroll wheel in that case and be done with it, but I'd rather be able to just replace the tiny axle which would extend the life of many mice , Since the scroll wheel is a source of failure for a lot of them.

My longest lasting mice have all been Logitech. Each of them has lasted over 3/4 years and that's a helluva lot of clicks and moves in my situation. Have good expectations for my G502 to do similar.
Another silent underdog is Trust. I know, its totally not sexy or even remotely superb, but it works and works well. Basically you end up tossing a Trust item away after some time because you just dread using it, not because it falls apart I also still have a keyboard of them that still works flawlessly, caked in dust, tossed through the room, it doesn't flinch.

Shortest lifespans: Sharkoon Darkglider (3 months, never again), Zowie FK1 (barely 2 years, phantom doubleclick now, will not revisit brand again, though lovely mouse to use).

I have a Sharkoon FireGlider as my work bench mouse. Very under appreciated mouse. Also great for large hands, I think I paid $30 for it on sale about 6 years ago

had a coolermaster choiix cruiser wireless 2.4Ghz that lasted four years mainly on ME and Dragon age games and general usage till one day i turn it on, laser lights up but no cursor movement....just like that dead

logitech G9x going on six years, I've tried to replace it with the logitech G602, Razer deathadder, and corsair M65 but each time I ended up sending the mouse back and sticking with the G9x.

I had a logitech M510 for... geez probably 6 or 7 years. Only just recently upgraded to a proper gaming mouse (corsair M65 pro RGB) and it feels like a tank. Couldn't be happier with the build quality.

Personally using an Asus GX950 that is 4+ years old ... I buy $3 logitech's ... MX518 i think ... by the half dozen of my office. Most users seem to still be going for Logitech Gaming Mice (wired)

My main mouse is a year old, since I built a whole machine along with it a year ago (Corsair Harpoon mouse, I think?). But I have mice everywhere. Mostly wireless ones. This one is wired however.

G500 and G500s both run for 1 year then the clicks went bad ( double click or not at all ) , I ordered a pack of Japanese Omron Switches and replaced the old original chinese with the new Made in Japan and I'm still using both after ~2 years from replacement no issues so far as good as day 1, also a sheet of teflon feets ...

The MX510 outlasted the g5/500, I switched to a Roccat Kone XTD, build quality feels like the 510.

The reasons for preferring wired mice have been repeated plenty of times elsewhere and I'm sure they apply here. But as for Logitech, I'm personally a sucker for the scroll-wheel's tilt-click on their mice. You tilt the scroll-wheel left or right for two extra buttons; it's so convenient. I'm surprised other companies don't offer it. Does Logitech have a patent on it or something?

One thing I didn't explicitly ask (and should have) when starting the thread was how do Diablo-clone players deal with the heavy wear-and-tear that comes with playing such games? And likewise, other use cases that inflict such wear-and-tear (though I can't think of any off the top of my head). Do they switch to a more disposable mice before playing or just suck it up?

My MX518 gotten worn out by skin oils after about a decade of service before I replaced it, but all electrical parts were still working perfectly. My RAT7 lasted 7 years so far, but it is no longer on my main box as of last week (replaced with a M65). Still perfectly functional, but no longer in daily use. I also have a G400 at work that I picked up at Goodwill for 5$. No idea how old it is, but has to be a few years old at this point. Works perfectly.

My mice seem to last forever.

I get all my keyboards and mice at good will now far cheaper than spending 100 bucks on a fancy lighted keyboard! LOL.
I get as long as they last with my temper and big hands.
