Microsoft today launches the Surface Precision Mouse. Designed for exceptional accuracy, comfort, and control, the new mouse helps you stay in your flow with flawless scrolling and three customisable buttons. Boasting an ergonomic shape, the mouse allows for either wired or Bluetooth connection and can work and switch seamlessly up to three different PCs. The Surface Precision Mouse is available for purchase now from the Microsoft store for $99.99. Special pricing is also available for eligible students, parents and teachers.

Microsoft is usualy a very good mouse and keyboard manufacter. But.. A Benjamin.. is a lot for a bluetooth only mouse. The MX S2 is a far better deal with the usb stick

USB C contact is WAY more sturdy than micro-usb, and is also reversible, which makes sense for a mouse. so YES for $100, I expect the weakest point in a mouse is using more durable and logical component choices.

P.S. I don't know what part of the world you live in, but almost all phones, laptops and motherboards that came out in the last year have been sporting either completely all usb-c ports or have included usb-c ports, so no, not so "extremely rare".

I hate to say this but, I would rather buy an overpriced Razer mouse. Pass. Why bother Microsoft, the older offerings were way better. I hope they didn't make too many of these waste of components.

I think you can still buy some good Logitech mice that aren't gaming focused that are half the price and wipes the floor with this. Lately I haven't seen much mice being tame in looks, so that's the only thing going for it.

I'm not a fan of Apple but this mouse actually makes them look good in comparison. In either case you get medicore quality but at least with apple they are smart enough to know ease of use is important. Microsoft was so cheap here they couldn't even bother to put in a USB C port. Who wants to fiddle putting the charging cord into their mouse. Even Logitech's wireless gaming mice have a better charging connector.

It can be used plugged into USB. I agree that $100 is a bit stiff, even for Microsoft's usual high quality Mice and Keyboards. There are high quality options for less money elsewhere. What audience do they think they're appealing too?

USB-C is a much better port (because of durability and agnostic positioning) and it's not just about bandwidth/throughput. (apologizes for being aggressive)

I like the nostalgic 90's colours but hey, where are the skates on that mouse? it will wear out too fast and become unpleaseant to use.
Also, as pointed out many times, for $100 (probably 110-120 EUR in my country) I could get a Logitech MX Master S2 (the Surface is a work mouse, not gaming) which offers blutooth AND 2.4GHz nano-receiver option, can control 3 PCs at once, allows copy/paste between them etc. and is overall superior in every single way, including looks.

most people don't care about controlling 3 PCs, but kudos to whatever that can.
look is subjective, so a null point, personally I think this looks better than the Logitech but who cares.
