ASRock Intros DeskMini GTX/RX with Z370 Chipset for 8th Gen Core Processors

ASRock updated its DeskMini GTX line of compact desktops with support for 8th generation Core "Coffee Lake" processors in the LGA1151 package (up to 65W TDP). At the heart of this machine is the new Z370M-STX MXM motherboard, which is slightly longer than the mini-ITX form-factor, to accommodate a PCIe gen 3.0 MXM slot. ASRock is selling the DeskMini GTX in three main variants based on the factory-installed discrete GPU, the DeskMini GTX 1060, the DeskMini GTX 1080, and the DeskMini RX 580. These use MXM cards of the GTX 1060 3 GB, GTX 1080, and the RX 580 8 GB, respectively, along with a fan-heatsink. The DDR4 SO-DIMM slots now support high-frequency modules up to 4000 MHz. This is still a bare-bones PC in which you add your own CPU, memory, and storage devices. The company didn't reveal pricing.

They already have a mini-STX without MXM (Desk mini 110). This thing is smaller than an ATX power supply.
It's crazy how much they've managed to cram-in and have lots of cooling space afterwards. Mine has an M.2 for SSD, M.2 for WiFi, and 2x SATA3 ports (with corresponding two-drive caddy on the back side).
Left it packed in the office until prices on used Skylake CPUs and DDR4-SODIMMs fall a bit.

Yeah, I know, I have the Desk Mini 110 working as an HTPC in my living room. But I want to replace the HTPC in my bedroom, and I've been waiting to replace it, but I want something as small as the Desk Mini 110 but that can hold 6-Core processors. And you're right, the DeskMini 110 is so tiny it's almost cute! Not as tiny as some of the other PCs I have in the house, but those aren't nearly as powerful either. The DeskMini is just crazy, that's why I want one that I can drop a 6-core processor in!

Of course I think we just have to wait for Intel to finally launch the lower end chipsets for a Desk Mini 310 or whatever.

MXM Vega and Polaris GPUs do exist, but getting one is difficult, and just as expensive as buying the full discrete design normally.

H370 is already out, so it might happen soon. Though, an AMD version with Raven ridge support would be my ideal combo.

Yeah, but even H370 is too high for something that replaces the DeskMini 110. I'm sure once the H310 comes out, which should be any time now, we'll hopefully see a DeskMini H310 that hopefully supports 6-Core processors.
