Technically, having RGB lighting doesn't prevent you from running with the lights off, thus getting a classic look. Not having RGB lighting, does prevent you from lighting things up.
Technical aspect aside, when RGB tends to cost an arm and a leg, peripherals do tend to be offered in both RGB and more classic variants.

That’s the whole sad bit, that lights qualify as “pimping” Used to be having a cool custom loop, SLI/Crossfire was “pimped” overpriced lights are just that, overpriced lights...Thank goodness for my Sabertooth it’s the “anti-RGB”

I use razer... but I do not install synapse... no thank you... i have enough crap background services.

RGB or not... i like the mat... the addiotional price premium is really questionable.
