Hi I just received my repaired ASUS ROG Intel Z370 MAXIMUS X HERO Coffee Lake ATX Motherboard and as I don't need it I am going to put it in my grand daughters desktop it will mean a new processor and ram I was looking at these,

The OEM CPU only has a 1 year warranty.
There are so many CPU coolers available that cost ~50% more than the TX-3 that will be much quieter, and I can personally vouch for the be quiet Shadow Rock SLIM

Is there actually a question in there?

the CPUs have to be some of the most reliable pieces of hardware ever made.I never even heard of one failing without user meddling.

the question is which of the i5s is the better and will the cooler be good enough plus will it work okay with the rest of the system ie psu ,ram

oh, that's easy: the one with the highest frequency. ( 3.6 GHz, boost 4.3 GHz)
The cooler should be able to handle it no problem but if you have any doubts go for the CM 212.
Also you are a awesome grandfather.

8600K is a beast, but only if you overclock it. If you don't or if she never will, get the 8600.

However, this is Z370 and her old CPU was also a K... and gaming rigs last a LOT longer with an overclockable CPU because clocks are king. And the mobo is just begging for it really

My grand daughter is only 8 so she doesn't need a bigger cpu as she only uses her system of school work and programs plus some small 2d games.

She's got nice cpu in my opinion, and her gpu is ok for small 2d games. I'm just saying be ready ... if she's 8, then 'better gpu' issue will arise soon with the discovery of the sims series

Hi all that comes out of the grand daughters system I will be putting in my eldest daughters system she has an Ivy Bridge so they both luck in, if it wasn't for the faulty Asus board it wouldn't have happened yet but I don't mind.
