BIOSTAR announces a pro-level crypto mining motherboard, BIOSTAR TB250-BTC D+ that appeals to anyone looking to maximize and/or scale their mining rigs. The BIOSTAR TB250-BTC D+ allows the Intel B250 chipset to reach its full potential as it allows true native 8-graphics card support, which removes the need for riser cards. Riser Card-Free Design
Taking riser cards out of the equation allows you to reduce setup costs (a saving of US$7-$10 per riser card) and lowers the running costs with more reliable hardware and reduced power consumption and thus your electric bill. Motherboard with support only to older generation CPUs for mining toy money, why they even bother manufacture these.. Like I've said before many times, collecting bottles is much more profitable. Also tree-huggers and other hippies like when you clean the environment, instead of wasting electricity for toy money.

Also when this toy money craziness is over, who would even buy something like this as an used product? It just goes to gather dust in a closet.

As you can guess, me neither. Also this mining-bs has skyrocketed the price of graphics cards (like everyone knows), or there isn't any you can even buy. Hell, even the prices of used graphics cards are insane. At least here in Finland, it would cost about 250-300eur to go from one GTX 980 to SLI. It's an almost 4 years old card..

Yep graphics cards prices are as stupid as ever new or used dosent matter. Im glad i took the jump to replace my GPU´s last year and not wait to 2018. I replaced GTX 970 SLI to one GTX 1080 TI before the prices on 1080 TI climed to the levels they are at today. Some way above 1000 USD and lauch price for a FE card where 699 USD and custom cards a bit more. Today i cut not afford a GTX 1080 TI simply because of these stupid prices. If i had waited i would only have had a GTX 1070 TI or 1080 non ti today.

With the current difficulty curve getting even steeper thanks to stupid people showing off their work with 10+ GPUs setup via social network, and how mad the GPU prices are despite there's a reduction, but still slightly higher than launch day MSRP. Heck, I even see miners selling off half-dead cards 2-3 times more than MSRP or discounted price with the tag "never used for mining". Yea... that's a freaking huge-ass giveaway that one has used it for such task, with possible evidence of flashing the card with custom BIOS.

Yup, I've been happily mining ZCash profitably since September last year.

Mid-range gaming cards like the 1050 ti seems to be doing OK for price and availability. You can still get decent deals if you look around.

How long you need to mine toy money before you get that amount back, what you spent on GPU(s)? And when you sell a GFX card which is used for mining*, many people (including me) wouldn't pay that much when compared to a card used only for gaming. And electricity isn't free also.

I've always thought that these toy money currencies are a joke, and I still think that. Well, keep doing your thing, I'll keep the hell away for it. Again, I'd rather gather empty bottles.

* usually the fans are fkd up, since they run at high speed, which shortens their lifespan. Usually, not always. But nah, not a toy money miner card for me.

recycling still gives u money quicker than mining IMO. Sure, it's not as much as getting a complete coin (it's how I call them anyways), but at least u can collect the cash from recycling & deposit into the bank without needing to wait for approval.
