Thanks you very much for the great tutorial on unlocking the cores of my ASUS RX560 Evo 4G. It worked perfectly.

Unlocking the cores from 896 to 1024 did not improved my hash rate. I had 10.7 MH/s before and after the unlock. I think it did improve temperature from 70c to 68c.

After I applied the one click timing patch and by slightly overclock the memory from 1500 Mhz to 1700, it did improve to 11.7 MH/s.

I guess I could reach a much better hash rate if I was brave enough to push the memory to the limit.

I add trouble at first because the ATI flash link in the post you linked at step 3 is the old version:

"3 - Flash BIOS ." (wrong link inside)

Here is the correct link for the current version ATIFlash: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ati-atiflash/

I hope it could helps

:)

Thanks for the hint, I knew that was a older version, but @cdawall have the BIOS flashing guide there, to help people with less experience in flashing BIOSes.

For mining you need to set computer mode on ATI Settings, and overclock the memory in small steps (5-10 MHz) untill you reach 2000 Mhz, if every thing ok you can raise the memory limit to 2250 MHz by editing the BIOS (PolarisBiosEditor).

Yeah, the guide is great ! Maybe you could juste add something like this in your post:
3 - Flash Bios
Guide: Link (warning, the ATI Flash version linked in the guide is outdated)
Link for current ATI Flash: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ati-atiflash/

Thanks for the tip, I'll will look into this ! The thing that scares me the most is that my card does not have a 6 pin connector. Before overclocking the memory to 1700 MHz, I downclocked the GPU by 90 MHz. As soon as I clocked the GPU back to it's original frequency the GPU throttled. I think it's because there were not enough power. CPU-Z state board power limit at 48W.

It seams I can not edit it anymore. :ohwell:

Raise the Power Limit to 75%.

Some cards are locked (hardware), like my Sapphire and yours.

@sneekypeet @W1zzard can fix the original post so you can edit it

Thanks, I think it should be better if your link was updated, linked to your post because the guide.

No problem ;) Thanks for trying !
Could you point me to the right direction on how I should do this ? Also, isn't the limit so low because the is no 6-pin connector for extra power ?

I have not AMD Settings installed,I took some pics from the net:

Change to Compute.

@aGeoM I ended up clocking the GPU to 1153 MHz and the memory to 1750 MHz for an acceptable 12 MH/s.

I also have a RX570 (samsung memory), GPU at 1150 MHz and memory at 1875 MHz that does 26.7 MH/s (from a stock 22.7 MH/s)

So I am 4.3 MH/s up because of your help ! Thanks

quick question, I installed a new RX560 on the PC with my RX570 and it kinda reseted the driver signature and diabled the RX570. All I had to do is run the atikmdag-patcher to fix the issue. My question is, what will happen at the next driver update if I patch both card, both patched signature will break again ?!. I do not have an integrated video card (CPU is a Ryzen 1400).

Do not forget to backup Original BIOS!!!!

1 -Open your BIOS with an Hex editor, then:
a) - Press Ctrl+F
b) - Search for 6F 22 70 22 in hex form

View attachment 97096

View attachment 97097

c) - Replace 6F 22 70 22 for 6F 22 6F 22.

View attachment 97098

d) - Save BIOS Crtl+S.

2 - Correct BIOS checksum:

a) Open BIOS with Polaris Editor (Read the notes on link)

View attachment 97104

b) - Save BIOS.

3 - Flash BIOS .

4 - Run Atikmdag Patcher .

5 - Restart PC.
6 - Enjoy it if you have an unlocked card. :toast:

Just reapply the patch after drivers install before the reboot.

What do you mean with "gone"?

Enable CSM on motherboard BIOS, and check again.

thanks for quick reply, there is no CSM option in my BIOS, I have gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 motherboard. Anyway when I use my other card(rx580) I am trying to work AtiFlash on bios mod, but I am getting error "This program can't work on bios mod" or something. Am I getting this error because of using win10?

In my opinion if I get access AtiFlash on bios mod, I can probably backup my original bios.

edit: Now I am getting "Adaptor not found". I search on google, looks like my cards brick. dammit..

Hi,
could you please give me a helping hand too?
Card is a Sapphire RX560 4G OC 14CU with micron. Oh and Baffin is mentioned somewhere, dont what that means:confused:.
I wanted to use polaris to change the straps, but it didnt show me any strap above 1500.
Zip is just written in dataname, just change to rom. One more Question, is this secure boot patching stuff also needed when using linux(i use ethos)?

Thank you very much !

Hello, I have returned after what happened xD
I was seeing how to repair my gpu, but in the bios of my motherboard I do not see an option to choose to start from the integrated chipset, can someone help me find that option or tell me if there is another way to do it?

Your motherboad has a VGA, DVI, DisplayPort, and HDMI port on it. Can you tell us what type of plug your monitor uses to hook up to the video card?

And he is gone again...
