BIOSTAR at COMPUTEX 2018 also showcased some other bits and pieces of hardware that didn't actually focus on mining. The company's M500 Series M.2 SSD, for example, features relatively high performance (not for an NVMe drive, surely, but against a SATA SSD there's just no competition). The LED indicators are interesting additions, dynamically blinking and giving color-coded information at a glance regarding drive temperature (which may sometimes be relevant in hunting down throttling scenarios), as well as data transmission on the drive itself.

BIOSTAR also showcased its RACING X470GTN motherboard, built around AMD's Socket AM4 and the X470 chipset, an interesting mini-ITX mobo which features a 7-phase VRM design and has dual DDR4 memory slots. There's a single PCIe x16 slot, reinforced, and 4x SATA ports handle storage connectivity. Graphics outputs are arranged in a 1x DVI and 1x HDMI configuration.

Other motherboards on display included the RACING B360 GT3S, a micro-star solution with 2x PCIe x16 slots, based on Intel's s1151 socket and B360 chipset. This motherboard increases expansion options with dual M.2 connectors, 6x SATA ports, and a PCIe 1x port. Graphics outputs have been engineered as 1x DVI, 1x HDMI, and 1x VGA configuration.

Last, but not least, is BIOSTAR's RACING B360GT5S motherboard, a full-sized ATX motherboard packing all bangs and whistles and a 10-phase VRM on top of that. There are 3x PCIe x16 slots here, with a dedicated M.2 key with its own M.2 heatsink cooling solution sandwiched between the bottom two PCIe x16 ports.

Yeah, Biostar has always kept legacy ports alive (serial, parallel, Firewire, VGA), even on their best boards. I guess because they are usually the cheapest boards available, and their customers still use old peripherals due to budget constraints.

That M.2 cover with status indicators is really interesting actually. I love blinkenlights and info like that.

Considering there are DVI-D and VGA monitors still being made, This is not a deal breaker.

Id like to see @buildzoid do a review on the mobos for the phases to see if they are truly single stack or just a double stack. The only beef for biostar is their bios.

Visually, that X470GTN looks identical to my X370GTN. Suppose they just swapped in the new chipset package and updated the BIOS. Not sure if mine has a 7-phase VRM, though.
