Hey all,

i started having this weird issue with my NVMe drive 2 weeks ago. Before that, any benchmark i ran always showed 1000+ mb/s write and 2000+ mb/s read speeds. My other SSDs and HDD show correct speeds.

Now, when i benchmark, i usually get ~200mb/s write and 2000+ mb/s read speeds, sometimes, randomly, i do get the expected speeds mentioned above.
I have not changed anything in matter of drivers, bios etc...

Specs: Asus X99-A , I7-5820K (stock), 650W PSU, Win 10 Pro x64 updated to latest (installed on the NVMe drive).

What i have tried so far:

- Made sure nothing is writing/reading on the drive before the tests.
- Checked Event Viewer, i noticed an error on each restart showing "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\RaidPort1." , Source: stornvme. Sometimes it also shows \Device\RaidPort2 .
- Check NVMe temperature with CrystalDiskInfo , usually it is around 60-62c on idle and 70c when benchmarking.
- Disabled XMP
- Updated to latest ASUS BIOS firmware and tried different firmwares
- Reinstalled all drivers including Intel RST
- Disabled Malwarebytes and Windows Defender
- Booted with Ubuntu Live , ran disk benchmark there.

(Attaching some pics.)

What i am trying to understand is, if it is a software issue, bios settings, or maybe drive / mobo are faulty and need to be replaced.

Thanks in advance!

Hey dorsetknob, thanks for replying.

i remember it always being at 60-70C, i guess thats high for nvme?. I googled a bit, and lots of people are complaining about the Mp500 temperatures, and according to Corsair's manuals, it is fine and should start throttling only at 80C.
I will check with a friend that has the same nvme , and will report back.

@dorsetknob I performed the tests on my friend's pc. 60-70c idle/usage, 2500mb/s read, 1500mb/s write, same driver and settings as mine.
