XFX Radeon RX 590 Fatboy Smiles For The Camera

I mean the name is COOL but for God sake that design really looks cheap and just simply awful...XFX cards for me(before)always looked modern&fancy with excellent cooling solution....here lets just compare this from the pic bellow:

Or maybe I just lost sense for the"FASHION"

Please do some research before talking about a topic you don't know anything about. I do not have time to waste correcting uneducated people.
Some AMD VGA's cards violated (and violates) PCI-E power specifications. This is a fact.

If we stick to averages only, these are 4W more than the allowed PCI-E 6-PIN ATX connection and 7W more than the allowed PCI-E motherboard connection. PCI-SIG was about to send an ufficial statement when AMD released some new drivers that allowed to switch the card to "nerf mode" (AMD called it "Compatibility Mode"). Graceless and shameless move.
Changing the tune? Your original assertion was
Latest AMD cards violate PCI-E specifications, drawing much more power than allowed.
"Latest" and "violate". As in Vega and today. Now you're telling me Polaris did it like a year ago. That is true (it was fixed in like a month or so), but it's not what you originally said.

kinda like the carbon fiber look ...

Lol why comment if you're just going to be whiny & negative while knowing the answers. AMD/RTG has low R&D funding & even if AMD come out with a high end line of video cards that beat out Nvidia, the sheep will still flock to Nvidia due to mindshare.

Yup so they focus on the card that makes them the most money and that is the 550-580, some instances the Vega56.

Why will XFX not put a custom Vega 64 on the market?
I have an Arctic Cooler Accellero III on my R9 290, which takes up almost 3 slots..not worried about that.
I am so torn between upgrading to this or a Vega. I feel like the Vega will be the better investment. But until the 7nm Vega comes out, they are too pricey for me..

Grab a 56 vanilla, put 3rd party cooler on it

Should be Phat Bui... As to XFX latest coolers sure they're a little weird shape, but I do like faux carbon fiber texture. Would it stop me from buying, not if it perf/cools and priced right. My son grabbed their RX 580 8Gb back mid-July for then $230, which for the time was a good price.

Not at all surprised that XFX reused the design/cooler, but them adding the extra 6-pin..? Not a big issue if they hold close to the 185W TDP. Just wonder if their existing PCB had those traces always baked-in, and just never used them or if that's a new PCB layout.

See this is the problem. Everyone wants AMD to beat 2080ti performance but they only want to pay RX 580 prices.

That's because prices for gaming GPUs are now into uncharted territory. The only other products to rise in price so quickly and profoundly are Cell Phones.
NVIDIA is pressing their current advantage for more profits, anyway that they can.
I just can't pay what they want me to for the latest, greatest anymore.

I hope AMD jumps on the pricing bandwagon and raises their prices. Give everybody what they asked for.

Remember HIS? The last time I saw their PCB was on the R9 300 reries. I miss those guys. Something isn't right, when R9 Fury came out with HBM, they just kind of never made their own cooler for HBM cards. They do have branded Vega cards, but they are all reference. And 400/500 series seems to have their own cooler, but they don't look all that impressive compared to their 7000/R(X)200,R(X)300 coolers.

I guess they sat this one out. When I think about it, I haven't seen much of their cards on UK retail anyway.

Honestly I like Sapphire more now. However, XFX made a name for themselves with the double lifetime warranty that transferred to another owner. I have bought several XFX cards in the past.
