Microsoft has apparently taken its IntelliMouse through an upgrade process. One of the more recognizable products harking back to Microsoft's past, the revamped IntelliMouse keeps its form, but sees the inclusion of an improved PixArt PAW 3389 Pro-MS sensor. The PixArt PAW 3389 features 50 levels of DPI sensitivity, running from a base 200 up to 16,000.

The 136 g IntelliMouse is being rated for accelerations up to 50G, and a maximum polling rate of 1,000 Hz; it's of the wired variety, and features a small RGB detail on the palm rest, near the back of the mouse. For now, it's only available in the Chinese Microsoft store (where it's available for 400 Yuan, roughly €50, but it should eventually find its way to other markets.

Tell me this is a sarcasic comment
Nothing about this was sarcastic. Modern gaming mice makers understand the need to strive for lighter and lighter mice, usually launching their new products 90g and below.

I really really like the shape of this thing, that and the understated looks, don't really care about the DPI/accuracy but the shape seems perfect.

Me too, I have 2 of them, and they still work as good as they did when I bought them :)

The Sidewinder peripheral series around 2007-2010. I've had a Sidewinder X8 as my gaming daily-driver mouse for almost 10 years now, and it's only just now starting to show double-click issues. I really wish someone would rip off the vertical thumb button layout now that Microsoft has excused themselves from that market segment.

Yeah, but the appeal of the original WMO and the IME 3.0 was that the shape was really nice and they had really good sensors. The new Intellimouse Classic has the shape, but it's not the same to use becuase the sensor sucks.

This is good news if that sensor is decent. I'm not much aware of what is good these days though so I can't say if this one is any good.

No one cares about competitive gamers.

That sounds really way to expensive for that mouse at that time.

Its nice to know that even TPU has a bunch of users utterly out of touch with how competitive gaming has been refining in the recent decade. :)
