Benchmark Scores i dont care about scores
it would be 699 price mark here in EU. still pricey...
599 would be massive buying

still waiting 12 cores Ryzen 3k info..

Now the question is, will there be another die on that Ryzen cpu in the future, because why not, or is it there solely cause they removed the io from the die itself, with no intentions on using 2 dies.

eh... i mean when ryzen 1700 came out it was up against the 7700K and absolutely destroyed it in Cinebench. So this is not great news.
This is 8c vs 8c, at lower power draw, that was 4 vs 8 so really not apples to apples.

I'd guess the space is for graphics chip for APU configuration, purely speculation on my part though.

Edit. They can use the same chiplets on all their processors with the separate IO chip, which reduces total production and development costs. I doubt they will release more than 8 cores for mainstream based on this (my opinion).

"... Ryzen achieved a score of 2557 using 135 W, while Intel achieved a score of 2040 using 180 W. ..."

"... massive 2.5 GHz clock speed ..."

Some really wrong stuff in the article post.
2057, not 2557, and 1.8 Ghz not 2.5 Ghz.

Where are these numbers coming from @Raevenlord ?

Benchmark Scores They're pretty good, nothing crazy.
It destroyed it with double the cores.
Gamers have enough cores, they want more clock speed and IPC, so AMD gave it to them.

If that was the case they would have shown gaming. Or at least shown gaming vs the current zen+. I don't think they're there just yet.

Or maybe i missed that part...

Could also be for 16c chip, Lisa never said that 8c was the top dog.

I guess that is possible, it would also open up all the possible configurations on the AdoredTV leak.

Both are highly doable scenarios
Yes but I'm a bit surprised that they didn't go for 2 "core" chiplets with each half die disabled? I think it was somewhere in the "speculative" leaks?

That chip is literally 6 months from release. Who knows how many steppings it'll go through before the final product.

She was smart not to tell much, she hyped a lot more than it was already to hehe, from now to may which will likely be the launch, amd shares will rise alot and they gave a 7nm gpu which rivals rtx 2080, good strategy, feed the gpu people stealing nvidia sales and hype cpus cause intel has nothign better than the ryzen 3rd gen.

If amd is confident with their gpu priced at 699$(their all time high) that means something good is on the way.

AMD shares TAAANKED with this announcement... I'm actually on the ride down.

Basically people were expecting an above 8C product for ryzen, and the pricing on the Radeon VII is abysmal. Nvidia is probably throwing a party right now. They priced it at the same as the price-gouged 2080!

Exatcly, the vega 7 must be really good, I'm disappointed about the cpu release though, I thought release would be also on 7 february.

Buy on rumours and sell on the news hehe but as the cpu will launch on may, shares will rise again if it crashes.

The stock market clearly wasn't impressed, oddly enough.
Seems a tad premature to dismiss AMD before the actual products arrive, but the stock market is fickle so...

More like Computex, or maybe a paper launch ahead of the show and actual parts by Computex. Time will tell...

The dips could simply be caused by the delay, a lot us were expecting 7nm CPUs in spring but this looks closer towards BTS in Q2 end/Q3 beginning.

It's because the initial ryzen launch was a massive disruptor. Intel's $1k processor was getting caught by a $400 part.

This announcement is more of a "We caught up! - and uh... we might be charging the same price... in a few months". It was just over-hyped.

I dont think ryzen 3xxx will be cheap though, like vega 7, if good it will cost it.

I think it’s safe to say AMD won CES this year. I’m glad to see AMD selling direct to customers. Retailers are raping customers on VGA and CPU prices.

Extremely disappointed by the new VII GPU. where's the "approx. 300-400USD 1080ti perf."?
Yup, that was clearly a lie.
Gotta be stupid to buy an RTX without RTX at the same price, only because of +8GB of HBM2.
Hard pass.

What, who said 1080Ti for 400 300 USD, also RTX? How about you ask why it's such a great feature to JHH

It was too easy to sell vega for $1000 on crypto crazy, amd knows their gpus have other uses better than the competition, reason for the $699 and if is same performance x rtx 2080 and less watts then its a win. It will sell a lot. About vega 7, i'm optimistic and the launch is around the corner, less than a month to, win/win.
