Antec Inc., a leading provider of high-performance computer components and accessories for the gaming, PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself market, presents the latest addition to their renowned Performance One Case series: The P101 Silent. The case is now commercially available from US$109.99.

The Performance Series is synonymous with performance, silence, and build quality. The P101 Silent continues the legacy with sound insulating components and a host of features designed for high-end configurations. The frame measures 527 mm x 232 mm x 506 mm (L x W x H). The side panels of this ATX mid-tower feature sound dampening foam lining on the top, side and front panels to block noise.

The front panel swings open for easy access to the large magnetic dust filter at the front intake, and the three 120 white blade fans pre-installed in front and one 140 mm fan in the rear bring a subtle elegance to the workstation. The P101 Silent accommodates E-ATX, ATX, Micro-ATX and ITX-mainboards and offers space for up to eight 3.5" HDDs (convertible for eight 2.5" SSDs) and two 2.5" SDDs, a 5.25" optical disk drive bay as well as eight expansion slots. Users can install VGA cards with a length of up to 450 mm and CPUs with a maximum height of 180 mm as well as PSUs with a maximum length of 290 mm. Last but not least, this case lets the user install the PSU from the back to make the build even easier and quicker and removable dust filters at the front and the bottom of the case ensure easy maintenance.

To keep its cool, the P101 Silent offers space for 3x120 mm or 2x140mm case fans in the front and one 120 or 140 mm fan in the rear. The thought-out case allows for installing a 360 mm in the front

and a 140 mm radiator in the rear. The front bezel features two white LED lit USB 3.0 slots, two white LED lit USB 2.0 slots, MIC/AUDIO(HD),Power and Reset button as well as a 3-speed fan controller (high / stop / low).

Functionality and sleek minimalism blend seamlessly in the P101 Silent, a mid-tower ATX case with a well-crafted exterior and a practical internal configuration. The P101 Silent ATX case is engineered to satisfy both performance and silence seekers while ensuring a great building experience - certainly worthy of high-end hardware configurations.

Hope people wake up: all you need for a "silent" case are good fans and a reasonable fan curve.

My (essentially) open case is as quiet as the Define R3 I had long ago.

My P180 mini is getting long in the tooth. This looks like a good spiritual successor.

What kind of fans are you using?

That is the path I went with my newest 9900k computer. Get an airflow case and put quiet things inside it. On low workloads, I don't want to be able to hear my computer at all. I have a meshify C filled with noctua goodness, and carefully set fan curves. They are the newish a12x25 fans, mounted with rubber fan dicks. Went with asus for the GPU, as the strix cards seem to be better than average when it comes to noise/thermals.

Gamer Jesus has a pretty good video on airflow vs silent cases.

That's... painfully Define R6

I was just thinking that myself... I would personally go for the Fractal case because better customer support. I havent received a response from multiple emails to them in three months... their forums are also a ghost town with maybe less than a handful (I say handful but i only noticed one or two regular service reps responding to issues posted up on their forums) of service reps hiding somewhere or totally crushed by the pressure of there being too many tickets to respond to.

pretty much. Although, there are instances with nasty cheap cases that resonate with fans. Other than that it comes down to decent cooling with tuned fan profiles.

Bought the Antec P110 Silent about 2 weeks ago to replace my P280, really happy with it.

Slightly higher temps (2-5C), but in return you get a super silent case.

Not necessarily. Coil whine, hard drive vibrations, fan airflow noise, fan motor vibrations and case panel/parts vibrations can all still be better muffled in a quality silent case.

As long as your ambient noise levels are low enough, you're going to notice noise coming from your PC. A quality silent case will help in that regard.

The P280 had open vents for 2 120mm fans on top. Not really ideal for silence when you can let noise escape so easily. The P101 doesnt have that flaw for a silence case.
