A Russian retailer has leaked more specifications of NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics card. Based on the 12 nm "TU116" silicon, this card will be configured with 1,536 "Turing" CUDA cores, but have no RT cores, and hence no RTX features. The chip could end up with 96 TMUs and 48 ROPs. The GPU is clocked at 1500 MHz nominal, and the boost frequency is set at 1770 MHz, however, the latter could be a factory-overclock set by AIC partner Palit for their GTX 1660 Ti StormX graphics card.

The memory subsystem of the GTX 1660 Ti is interesting. While it's still 6 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 192-bit wide memory bus, the memory clock itself is lower than that of the RTX 2060. The memory ticks at 12 Gbps, which results in 288 GB/s of memory bandwidth, compared to the RTX 2060, which thanks to its 14 Gbps memory achieves 336 GB/s. The card draws power from a single 8-pin PCIe power connectors. Outputs include HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI, we don't expect any cards to ship with VirtualLink.

Why wish for 199$? We can all be a little bit more delusional and hope that they will hand a GTX 1070 (329$) equivalent card completely for free to everybody who registers to their site.

Actually, while we are at it, why not even make it more expensive ? It is new after all.

You people amaze me.

The memory bandwidth reduction doesn’t surprise me since there’s no RT. It’s still more bandwidth than a 1070 Ti. I do wonder about price—don’t they have an oversupply of 10 series cards?

@btarunr would be nice if you included the specs of the current GTX 1060 6GB for comparison purposes.

Why does that page say 6-pin power, but this article says 8-pin?

@$199 then it will be a great deal

This card is intended to fill the massive gulf between GTX 1060 6GB ($250) and RTX 2060 ($350) that's opened up due to GTX 1070 going EOL. Obviously GTX 1660 won't perform at 1070 levels (even though it has more memory bandwidth!) so I'm expecting a price around $300... but since RX 580s are selling for under $200 (with 2 free games) on the Egg and RX 590s are $260 + 3 free games, $300 is a tough ask. TPU's page says $280 MSRP which I doubt we'll see - but if so, GTX 1060 prices will drop like hotcakes, which would be a good thing - and would put more pressure on AMD, which is always good from NVIDIA's perspective.

Which people, the realistic ones, or the out-of-touch users who wishes every piece of advanced hardware should cost 99-199$?

The ones the prove this market and consumer expectations have been twisted to the core.

Enjoy your new GPUs where generational improvements can be non existent and prices hardly budge or go up. Yeah, that's definitely a realistic view, you are out of touch to think anything else can be done.

Because 60 Ti SKU were always at or close to 199$, except when they were around the 299$ mark. Being realistic is understanding that a GPU with a 20% performance distance of the 349$ RTX 2060 should possibly cost around 279$, and not some 2-year old RX 580-like pricing.

Now we can say for certain that this replaces the 1060, 2060 really replaces the 1070 and 2070 really replaces the 1080. 2080 and 2080Ti are like old Titans: for those with a lot of disposable cash on their hands.

I won't be surprised if it has a starting price of $300 since AIBs will be selling "reference" variant for around that price range or at 2060 FE price range with aftermarket cooler & small bump in memory clocks, not core. I'll rather buy the 2060 & be done with it if AIBs are gonna do that.

@eraser666 I thought the card will have those baked into the silicon since it's essentially a reduced TU106 core?

maybe you'll get an answer for the question why 1660ti is gonna be $300 if you ask amd why they priced rx590 at $280.
thanks for supporting the right company with your purchase tho.

I like that it has Tensor cores
no raytracing fine, but for a mainstream gamer, at less than the 1060 6GB sold during much of it's shelf life because that price did shoot up, this could be an ok card for a new build.

Staying positive on this, the high end might be sewn up but mainstream is up for grabs between AMD and Nvidia I reckon.

Come here, I have special card! It's 2 000% (literally, 20 times!) more powerfull than 8800 gtx ultra, which was priced ~800$ back in the day - so, only 15 999$, specially for you - and it's called 1080 Ti!
Yeah, 20 times pricier, but 20 times faster!!
Ain't that amazing?
