Antec Inc., a leading provider of high-performance computer components and accessories for the gaming, PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself market, announces the DA601: a case engineered for performance and built for the ultimate Gaming PC. The case delivers a combination of cooling, performance, and convenience. Its aesthetics will appeal to gamers and enthusiasts who prefer a futuristic yet functional appearance. The DA601 features X-ARGB-Strips on the front panel while the mesh design allows the light of the included 120mm Prizm ARGB fan to shine through. The DA601 will soon reach store shelves and online retail outlets in Europe with a competitive MSRP of 93 Euros.

The DA601 features an exceptionally robust cooling system to be prepared for the most demanding Gaming battles. The mid-tower comes with one pre-installed 120 mm Prizm ARGB fan and one regular 120mm fan in the rear. The chassis offers space for additional two 120 mmm fans in the front and three 120 mm or two 140 mm fans on the top. The frame measures 480 x 220 x 500 mm (D x W x H) and supports E-ATX (up to 12" x 11"), ATX and Micro-ATX motherboards as well as graphics cards with a maximum length of 400 mm and power supplies with a maximum length of 200 mm.

Furthermore, the DA601 offers space for two convertible 2.5" / 3.5" HDDs and four 2.5" SDDs as well as seven expansion slots. The thought-out case allows for installing a 360 mm radiator in the front, one 280 / 360 mm radiator on the top and a 120 mm radiator in the rear. The magnetic dust filters at the top and bottom can be removed for extra airflow and easy maintenance.

"The DA601 builds on Antec's popular Gaming case design with loads of cooling and capacity," says Jack Wu, General Manager Europe at Antec. "With one press, users can have simple access to all the LEDs of the whole build, while the high-tech front panel design makes the build shine as a superhero."

The detachable front panel allows for easy dust clearance and the built-in ARGB control module invites to play with the colors. Thanks to the full LED access, users can control the lights with one single button or through motherboard synchronization. The side panel made of tempered glass shows off the components perfectly. The front bezel features two USB 3.0 slots, Power & Reset button, MIC / AUDIO and the ARGB control button.

The DA601 is backed by Antec's Quality 2-Year Warranty.

A single 120mm you want to highlight? This is almost as bad as the fully closed off fronts. This thing will be starved for air.

Bleh - that's one ugly front for a case, not to mention the unnecessary RGB every Tom, Dick and Jane keeps throwing up on their products they push out.

Filter BEHIND the fans...wat lol

That cabling looks awful. Airflow looks awful. Filters look awful.

So, not bad for an Antec case.

Yep, all those reasons and more,....

I'll also say that the construction looks cheap. It just looks like some stamped metal and rivets. It would have been nice if they put in some rubber grommets.

It would work better if they just put some mesh in the front instead of plastic or some vents on the side or something.

Logo in the middle of the front of the case,.....really!?!

that dust filter looks to be part of the case so its not removable i dont think. I could be wrong though. Silly design idea.

Upon going to the product page, it does actually look removable

What does this even mean Antec?? Are you trying to tell the people that with all the fancy RGB shit LED lights that you have failed to invoke and capture the 'gaming spirit inside this PC case? Maybe you failed because you didnt add the word 'gaming' to the name of the case? Because its not actually a 'Gaming' case without the word 'Gaming' in its name? The flashy RGB lights only get it so far and they cant get the full 'Gaming' accreditation unless 'Gaming' is in the name. pls Antec, Antec pls, y u do dis Antec? y? I want my gaming spirit now antec.

An Antec GX500 was my first ever PC case.

Then I bought an Enthoo Pro M for my new build and realized how awful the GX500 really was. This looks little better.

Looking at the product page link you provided it would seem that the front of the case can indeed support up to 3x 120mm fans, The outer plastic seems to function as a kind of funnel and doesn't necessarily cut off airflow,.....apparently.

So, I'll allow it,... :)

I take back what I said about it at first blush until I see testing with case face plate off and on. Until then I'm optimistic.

Testing you say?

Presumably then, you wont be reading @Darksaber's review for that, or I fear you'll come away disappointed by more than just the case...

I suspect that most case testing wouldn't bother testing temps with and without the front face plate on. Just saying. In most cases they would probably only test the case as is.

Sure. But Darksaber won't even bother doing that.

Antek has shown his color ! that criticism does not hurt them !, And in the presentation of the expensive ! 2fans in one housing with is, much cheaper production value to sell much more expensive than it would cost two separate fans, described ! ,as being the invention of the century ! Here, we see the same fancy terms for a few cents worthy of a diode controller, and only one ! diode-clad fan !for a 3 dollar market value tries to be placed in the highest grade geaming gire. It's hard to recognize what they want to sell us here: lies or rubbish! For example, Phantex Evolve X gets $ 199 for 16 kg of aluminum, fans, etc., and according to the description it should belong to this class, the price is lower yes , and value is below $ 30 if you ask me ! They are not worth the time ! Or geth upset, so ANTEK means it's not worth it (time and money..) , or go ahead, you are wasting your time reading literary terms because there is nothing to see here ! exsetra .:kookoo:

Honestly I enjoy the aesthetics of this case a lot. Hell I'm currently rocking a raidmax viper gx as my case. I like the curves and angles on my case. The LEDs add to it but aren't my main focus point but with this case you can get a little of both sides thanks to the side panel being clear

Deciding whether a case is good not good 'with a glance is not science

Start at 5:25

Complete front panel in place = 271 fpm
Angling the front panel provides extra open area = 281 fpm
Taking the entire front panel off = 281 fpm
Taking the mesh grille off = 300 fpm
Taling out dust filter = 313 fpm

So going from a solid front cover to no from cover picks up a whopping 10 fpm or 3.7%.

It looks like it offers:

3 x 120mm in front
3 x 120mm in top
1 x 120 in rear

At $84 (newegg) I would say don't expect more than your typical < $100 and explains why you only get 2 fans. The styling should be very attractive to those < 25. The youtube video shows just under 1.5 minutes of possible LED displays. Can't really say much more without a good teardown

An Antec GX500 was my first ever PC case.

Then I bought an Enthoo Pro M for my new build and realized how awful the GX500 really was. This looks little better.

Phanteks changed everything ... the differences in quality and features for the majority of vendors before and after Phanteks arrival is quite impressive. The HAF was a great case in its day, but compared to today's offerings, it's rather Ewwwww.

I suspect that most case testing wouldn't bother testing temps with and without the front face plate on. Just saying. In most cases they would probably only test the case as is.

It's starting to be done now as responsible reviewers are trying to dispel myths that have propagated for some time now from folks who take a glance at a case and make knee-jerk judgments without using any instruments. Look at the 600S review above for example ... taking the front face off gets ya 3.7% more air.

Cupla Antec Innovations that I wish other case manufacturers would adopt (from D85)

SATA backplane - HDs and SSDs slide in and out ... PSU power and cables are connected to drive frame. Taking drives in and out, no cables need to be touched.
Hot Swap Drive Bay in Front panel. ... great for data transfers, backups, off site storage

It's obvious you are a Phanteks fanboy based on your frequent postings about them, but if the P600s is so great (and different according to them) Why is it a copy of CoolerMaster's H500P ?
