Bigben and EKO Software are pleased to reveal the launch trailer for Warhammer: Chaosbane. The game is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. After two beta phases that united Warhammer and hack-and-slash fans alike, EKO Software is proud to announce a game that remains faithful to the lore while simultaneously offering game mechanics never seen in its genre before.

Konrad Vollen the soldier, Elontir the mage, Bragi Axebiter the dwarf Slayer, or Elessa the archer: which hero will you choose, alone or with your friends, to come to the Empire's rescue and push the Chaos back?

The first action RPG to take place in the Warhammer Fantasy Battles world, Warhammer: Chaosbane plunges the player into the heart of the Old World, a continent marked by the Great War against Chaos, a bloody conflict which ravaged the Empire of men. They will embody a human, a high elf, a wood elf, or a dwarf, and discover the iconic locations of the Warhammer Fantasy Battles universe that's captured the imaginations of millions of fans across the world.

Principal characteristics:
  • The first hack-and-slash set in the Warhammer Fantasy Battles universe.
  • 4 character classes, each with their own unique gameplay, skills, and gear.
  • An XXL bestiary with more than 70 monsters, all linked to the gods of Chaos, and epic boss fights.
  • A game designed for co-op: on your own or with 4 players, local or online, the interface and class synergy have been specifically created for cooperation and teamwork between characters.
  • Extreme replayability: in addition to the main story, a boss rush mode, infinite dungeons, and regular updates will ensure a rich gaming experience.

Warhammer: Chaosbane is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Steam and Utomik.

It has reviews on Steam and according to Steam it is highly positive. There is a review from IGN that basically says that the voice acting sucks but the action is over the top with great visuals.

Apparently it's beyond mediocre. No real content, and the campaign is short.

You sure about that "highly positive"

Dont know why, but i found it more boring than D3, couldn't even gather the strength to finish ACT1. UI and Inventory are like console port quality. Voices are irritating. Graphics and music are good, sounds are okay. Sadly i rather replay D3 or D2 or Titan Quest or Grim Dawn then continue this game. :(

Understood those are all excellent ARPGs in every sense that you are comparing it to. What piqued me about the game is that is set in the Warhammer universe. There is a Warhammer 40000K ARPG that was released last year that gave me the same feeling so I guess I might not get the game after all.

Well that was on Monday but the scores may have lowered due to it being available on Steam now

I dont know but the only WH games that really stuck for me are the Strategy oriented titles. And I do fancy ARPGs a lot... several thousand hours spent in those. Still feeling no urge to play yet another weak Warhammer title.

Its really hit and miss with this setting, and unless it is somewhat 'complete' it just doesnt work. Here, playing a mere 4 races in a fixed campaign is a dealbreaker already. It ends up as a weak reskin of old concept executed badly.

Yeah we were spoiled by the quality of Total War Warhammer 1 & 2 and the Company of heroes Warhammer clones (with the exception of Warhammer 3) that came before it. Even the first person games like Vermitide are better to me than the ARPGS in the Warhamnmer world.

Well, seeing as there are basically only 2 (4) actually successful Warhammer Fantasy games, you really do not have a lot of choice - Total War: Warhammer 1/2 (3 is coming, praise Sigmar!) and Vermintide 1/2, basically couple of games in just two genres...

Ah yes, there was the Age of Reckoning, one of the "WoW killer's". We know how that ended.

Nahhh there's couple more in my opinion - that is Warhammer setting broad - 40K included; that's just the same stuff in a future coating really (I know blasphemy but that's me)

of these, only Dark Omen really had fixed races and campaign; but that one is mostly nostalgia I think; still, it had a pretty well built campaign at that.

But yeah, Warhammer Fantasy specifically, I think you might be right after all :p

Vermintide I also really liked... but it does wear off só fast. Very shallow really, but good fun. But the reason for that is not really the fact that its Warhammer to me, it just has a really sweet combat flow to it.

Yeah Armada is pretty neat and original, great marriage of the tabletop and game. Maybe thát is the better explanation - Total War also manages to marry the tabletop and gaming and the result is greater than the sum of its parts.

I'll stick to WoW, rather enjoying it actually after a 6yr break.
