During this year's E3 event, NVIDIA launched a new, refreshed lineup of "Turing" graphics cards, called GeForce RTX Super. They revealed that the "Super" refresh will be present for GeForce RTX 2060, RTX 2070 and RTX 2080, without disclosing whatever they will update GeForce RTX 2080 Ti as well. There were a plethora of rumors speculating CUDA core count and GPU core configurations for 2080 Ti Super model, with some claiming that it will feature a full TU102-400 die that is found on RTX Titan graphics card.

However, according to Anthony Garreffa from TweakTown, during the GeForce RTX Super release event, he asked senior vice president of NVIDIA's PC business, Jeff Fisher, will there be a release of GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Super graphics card. To that question Jeff replied with a simple "would not be", meaning that the current "Super" lineup is complete as it is. Additionally, it is quite reasonable for NVIDIA not to give RTX 2080 Ti a "Super" treatment as that would close the performance gap between GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and RTX Titan graphics cards, possibly compromising the sales of the RTX Titan GPU.

I would assume what Jeff meant was "we have no current plans for a RTX 2080 Ti Super".

Looking forward, I can definitely see space for a 2080 Ti Super SKU in their product stack, with slightly higher shader count and faster GDDR6 memory

There's no need for such a card - currently no GPU from AMD can beat even a standard 2080 (but sometimes the scores are close, that's why 2080 Super comes in), so no point in fighting over the market that's already theirs to begin with.

I think what Wizz says is, that there is still headroom for 2080TI S. Besides it would be good marketing for NV considering how Ray Tracing is running on 2080TI. Stronger card means better RT performance which might shake things up. That also depends if they put more RT cores.

Who wants Nvidia to release an
GeForce RTX 2080 Ti ULTRA

bring back the old Ultra naming and It only seems right seeing the super line up isn't high end.

2560 core NAVI costs 399, so how much for 3840 core 12GB version that comes close to 2080Ti, think 599, and then we see 2080 SS nonTi Super Super with 3840 core 384 bit bus for 699. Hopefully.

with the green camp still dominating the GPU space, releasing the refined 2080Ti is not gonna change much.

There is headroom. However, if AMD releases the top-tier card (a full RDNA GPU) next year, I think nV will bring a completely new line of products to counter that, so it's unlikely for 2080ti S to appear.

It's a good time to be alive. Competition finally lives! Imagine if Intel just shocks everyone with their first dedicated GPU and it just smashes everyones expectations and nvidia has to rush 7nm EUV chips just to catch up... I know I am dreaming, but damnit let me dream!!!!

Yeah, and Navi on OC is going to get 2080ti performance which was also an instabuy, and you get free rainbows while it does... man you and your fantasy

the fact AMD has a card at $399 that goes toe to toe with rtx 2070 super in a lot of games is actually very impressive... no one was expecting it. most were saying AMD was still on GCN still. eh say what you want, AMD actually did pretty good this round I think, yeah not the king, but still impressive. if it wasn't for that damn blower cooler they might have actually won me over. I'm considering 2080 super though just waiting for benches

the plan so far is keeping laptop unless rtx 2080 super can match 2080 ti once it has a mild OC. sorry I don't explain my life decisions to you in detail.

No need to explain, but that is another example of fairy tales in your head. 2080 super matching 2080ti... how!? There is a 1300 shader discrepancy mate.

If Nvidia did release a RTX 2080 Ti Super for $1,200 then it would probably cannibalize the Titan RTX for $2,500. They may still do it though if Mr Huang is pretty sure that they won't sell many more Titans anyway.

Or, and that's just a guess, NV will release 2080 TI super and stabb Titan in the back and then release Titan Super :p

nah they won't release a 2080 ti super, by the time that would be relevant, they will be on 7nm EUV chips, which is expected next summer/Fall.

You are probably right. Anyway, the 2080 TI according to TPU is 6% faster than 2080S in relative performance. I'm sure if there is an OC potential with 2080S ( I'm sure there is be but not sure how far we will be able to push the clocks) it can reach 2080TI. If that happens, 2080Ti's price and performance will kill this product making it obsolete. There's no way people would pay twice for only 6%. I wouldn't. Not sure if NV want's to do it to its own product. On top of that, I'm sure NV will not cut 2080Ti's price. This means NV must think of something here. On the other hand, they can just leave it as is and work on a new cards instead.

the kind of people who pay $1200 for a graphics card still won't buy SUPER 2080, it's not about money at that point. a lot of people just have more money than others, that's why everything is tiered price wise.

I think it is more than just cash. I know people that will buy it on a credit and others that can afford will not buy it ever. Too bad the price is dictating the products tier now not performance alone. Or maybe these two are tied to each other much more than a decade ago.

The current silicon is almost maxed out already (68 out of 72 SMs are active). Enabling the remaining 4 SMs wouldn't yield much.
I have said it from the beginning, the very high price on the 2080Ti is just an indicator that it's really hard to manufacture so Nvidia doesn't want to sell many of them. It's just a "because we can" product. Plus, by comparison, it makes the other cards look like they're not that expensive. You know, it's how the triple whopper makes you feel like you're exercising restrain when you're eating a double whopper ;)
