Why don't they put molex connectors on the lower-end cards?? 8600gt, 8500, 2600xt.... it would give much better OC's!

because it costs extra, and OCing was never part of a design for any budget card.

OCers are lucky we get mobos and ram made for us, we sure dont get anything else....

and by molex do you mean a 4 pin power? cause the PCI-E 6 pin isnt a molex.

Because the PCI-E slot only gives 75W or so... the molex would give more power.

a good question on why don't they is why don't they make amigas anymore nto the molex thing plus with a molex they gonna need more capacitor to handle the extra watts plus the low-mid end cards don't need so much energy

p.s. save the planet people we must try for less watt/perfomance ......green house effect ring any bell???

75w is more than enough for cards that doesn't even have voltage control...

It's pointless when the PCB design itself (to save costs ofc) don't have the required components such as a suitable number of caps to sustain the higher power draw.

The caps could explode under high strain.
