This laptop performance/portability/real estate/price problem will never really go away. Its always compromises, I have never seen a lappy that truly lasted as a desktop replacememt without being nearly as bulky. And then they cost an arm and a leg, too.

Hardcore gaming on the go, it never really seems to fly. I dont understand the niche looking for 240hz in a portable format, youll never get that 240 fps anyway, even half the number is optimistic...

yep i'm selling my 1070 laptop right now for under 600 bucks, paid over 1500 after i bought extra ram.

I think trog's examples point out that even 500-600 is far too much, especially given the state of that laptop... sad but true

Hear, hear. I'd give you more than one like for this if I could.
I guess DTRs are a kind of a halo product, as in "look what we can do" rather than something the public needs/wants or buys in any significant numbers.
Part of the engineer in me tips his hat to these achievements, but the other part just can't help noticing the imbalances. Oh well...
