Rockstar Games announced that its smash-hit western sim "Red Dead Redemption 2" will release on the PC platform on November 5. Pre-orders for the game will open on October 9th via the Rockstar Games Launcher. The game is among the best selling console titles on the two platforms it debuted on - PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, roughly a year ago on October 26 2018. Rockstar Games also announced that besides PC, the game will debut on Google's Stadia platform. The publisher announced available on no other PC DRM platform (such as Steam or Epic Games Store), probably because it wants to establish Rockstar Games Launcher as its main point of sale for PC.

Awesome. I have been waiting for this since Rockstar Games made RDR2 official. The first game whas brilliant. I also hope this time again we will see a Undead Nightmare DLC as the first one had a pretty good story and i enjoyed Undead Nightmare greatly as well.

I'm a bit surprised Take2 didn't wait for next year's new consoles just to triple-dip their game in sales again like they did with GTAV.
Greedy bastards.

The console version got incredibly good reviews and I've heard a lot of really good things from people who comment on PC gaming forums but also own a console as well and have played the game. As long as Rockstar does a decent job porting the game to PC then I will definitely be getting this game on PC. If they do a poor job on the port then the game will be a turd. I doubt they will do a poor job on the port though. Too much money to be made from PC gamers to mess it up.

I'm a bit surprised Take2 didn't wait for next year's new consoles just to triple-dip their game in sales again like they did with GTAV.
Greedy bastards.

They may triple dip yet with an upgraded version for the next gen consoles. We will see next year.

Because you dont NEED to play RDR1 to understand what is going on with RDR2. It is a sequel, but also a prequel, and doesnt involve the same characters.

Kinda like you dont need to play black flag to understand syndicate or other modern AC games, or hwo you dont need to play bioshock 2 to understand bioshock infinite.

It's also coming to steam in December.

The preorder bonus for rockstars launcher is very lackluster. Most everyone has those games they are offering for free anyway.

So; if this is as boring as the preview I saw on south park last season, why do I want to spend days of time upgrading my horse?

Modern games suck; I really don't want to spend weeks developing a character I could give a rats ass about.

Can we see an upgrade of Quake that doesn't involve ridiculous "progression" steps to make the noobs feel good about themselves, and just gives a level playing field where we can blow each other to hell?

If some asshole can pay money to be invulnerable to my rocket launcher, it's not a game, it's an ego support program.

Everyone does not deserve a trophy, no matter what your money-generating algorithm says.

Man; I think that looks even worse than Doom 2016.

The cinematic crap takes away from the gameplay immensely.

I really don't care about playing a demon, advanced abilities, and lootboxes.

There's a reason we cling to Quake2 and UT2003, even with all the hassles involved.

I doubt this will change our gaming nights at all.

I only play Doom 2016 for the arcade mode, at this point.

The ridiculous advancement for the multiplayer, and the cheats are a deal breaker.

If I can't kick assholes from the server, we'll do something else.

Quake whatever was the same way; that's not the game I'm looking for.

It's also coming to Google Stadia for those that want to stream it in 4k HDR 60 FPS.

I have Stadia pre-ordered. It is supporting a lot of AAA games so far... I just hope the 60 fps and latency doesn't bug me, if it does I will refund it. Google store says you have 14 days refund window for Stadia. but if not, then victory is at hand!!! cause I have 1 gig internet and unlimited data.

You have a perfectly good gaming computer. Why oh why would you purposefully subject yourself to latency and compression artifacts. And if you buy it on Stadia and then Google inevitably kills it for no good reason, you have lost your game for good.

Seriously, if it's running at 4k30 on an Xbox One X, you're probably going to hit 4k60 on a 5700 XT pretty handily. So sad to see PC enthusiasts want to stream games...

no don't think you understand, Google Stadia you don't buy games, if its a streaming game it comes as part of their $9.99 a month pass, of which the first 3 months are free.

also I just am generally interested in how far along the tech has come, and its really a no risk deal if it doesn't impress me I will refund it. my dad has a 65" 4k HDR tv, and 1gig internet with no data cap. so $129 which includes everything including 3 months of the subscription is really no brainer, especially if I want to see if I like 4k gaming at 60hz. again, if I end up not liking it and preferring the high refresh 1440p, then yeah of course I will learn from my mistake, and refund it. but i just am curious how far all the tech has come

my only issue is I can't tell if RDR2 is part of the Pro Pass of games, or if its one of the ones you have to pay full price for... Stadia offers both.

the streaming games are here

the streaming games are here

I don't think you understand. You have to pay the monthly price and the cost of the game. They may have some games as part of a "Stadia Pass" but the majority of the games will be full price and have to be purchased before they are streamed.

"Pro subscribers will also receive PlayStation Plus/Xbox Live Gold-style benefits, including discounts on game purchases and free games released at a "regular cadence." The first of these freebies, Destiny 2, will be available to Pro subscribers at launch in a package including all current and future expansions plus the ability to transfer an existing Guardian from the PC or Xbox edition (PS4 transfers are currently "pending approval by Sony"). These free titles will remain accessible as long as users maintain their monthly subscription. "

"Aside from free titles on the Pro tier, all Stadia games will be purchased on an a la carte basis. "

As this is a brand new game, and there is no indication it is part of the "Pro" subscription, you're going to be stuck paying $60 for the game, and then paying $10 EVERY MONTH to be able to stream it in 4k or HDR. So you can wait a couple years to see if it's ever added to the "Pro" free games, or you could buy it for your gaming computer...
