Philips today introduced their latest productivity-geared monitor in the form of the 346B1C. The 34" panel is of the VA type, ensuring great viewing angles without any form of color degradation. The WQHD resolution of 3440 x 1440 means maximum resolution, which can be better put to use in the 21:9 curved format of the display, allowing you to seamlessly work across two different windows (like this news editor is doing right now, really). The 346B1C features a USB-C dock so that you can have a seamless workflow from your portable environment to the big screen. It also sports split-screen views and an integrated multi-client KVM switch, so two PCs can use the same monitor, keyboard and mouse.

There's Adaptive-Sync (which should add some gaming chops to the monitor), flicker-free tech and LowBlue Mode for comfort. The stand features support for 180º swivel, tilt, and height-adjustments, and there's VESA support (though that's a given nowadays). The Philips 346B1C will be available this November for £539.

Looks like a cool addition / upgrade to my current LG Ultrawide screen. However with that resolution you need a bigger card for games to run native / 100Hz.

"integrated multi-client KVM switch, so two PCs can use the same monitor, keyboard and mouse."

What a fantastic feature to incorporate into the unit. Really wish this was available a year ago when I upgraded 76 monitors in my office to Dell U3415W.

Well it’s a productivity monitor so driving “100hz Spreadsheets“ doesn’t take a lot of extra horsepowe.

That is 4k territory in games and with 100hz you need to pack some brutal horsepower in your graphics card.

Yeah but you're generally doing 2D workloads it doesn't need 3D grunt to have side by side Excel docs. I suppose if you planned to use it for say video editing then yes. Its not intended as a gaming monitor despite having decent features for doing so.

Edit.
Now I see that Phillips product page has 48-100 Hz listed.

If you don't need the KVM 345b1c is the same thing only a bit cheaper.

I guess they will mark this as G-sync compatible NOT Freesync.they get more benefit from Nvidia brand.

Yeah it’s starting to piss they are basically “erasing” Freesync with this nonsense to the point it’s actually hard to find monitors that are even listed as Freesync now when they we’re Freesync monitors first me and Ford went looking the other night and monitors previously listed as Freesync have become Gsync compatible and lAdaptive Sync”

AMD, nourished, pushed it and the end got backstabbed... That's kinda rude.

It just irks me that Nvidia is literally stealing Freesync under the label of G-Sync compatibl. Way to skirt( the NV G-Sync tax by using the competitions system and labeling it your own.

It is more about how spineless are companies singing to their song. AMD should have put some statement about it. They have the right to do it.

Are we seeing GPP in action again?

This looks a tad expensive for a VA panel, you can get 144Hz curved VA for less

Up for pre-order at Amazon already and it's only $479. A lot less than the UK price mentioned. I've never pre-ordered a monitor, but based on this things combo of features/specs, I did it. Worst case I send it back to Amazon, but this thing looks killer to me as someone that works from home a couple days a week and occasionally does a little gaming still.

Yes, it's in the original specsheet of the product. Would be handy if those specs where listed here. I use my PC for primarily web, programming and so on, and a game once in a while. So a screen that fits both would be extremely handy. Dual input screens btw does'nt work properly on my LG Ultrawide. It can accept up to 4 inputs, and you have 4 nice litle squares, but it's far from sharp and even a split screen works like garbage.

If your screen was more then a meter wide, yes a split screen function would be handy. But still. I prefer 2 screens next together with barely no gap in between them.

Will you do us a favor and write up a little review on it? Just some pros, cons, etc. I'm especially curious about the KVM functionality.

Just finished my first build so I am a bit of a novice. What kind of horsepower is needed? I put in a Sapphire 5700XT. Is that sufficient?

My GTX 1070 handles my current 16:9 1440p 144hz monitor pretty well. The 5700 XT is more like a Super 2060/2070 speed, so I'm betting it'll handle a 21:9 1440p 100hz monitor just fine too.

Have a compare against the likes of AOC's VA Panels, currently using a 32" 144Hz Curved one myself, of course its no IPS but a great tradeoff at £320

Sure, I’ll try to remember to come back to this thread. Keep thread notification on :)

Well crap, Amazon just moved the shipment way out. Now says November 23rd to January 14th delivery. So if it hasn't shipped and I see something decent come along for Black Friday, might end up canceling that order.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yes, I ordered mine too and was disappointed to see the delivery date options. I can't seem to find anyone selling this thing. I wonder if it really got released on 10-26?
