I know buying graphics cards from Taobao in general means people will think they are bad. But I've see quite confusing facts that they are of identical quality.

For example certain cards will have a different bus width and others will have different memory capacity.

While some of them just have oppositely built cooler components such as metal fins.

Not to mention some strange results too. Like some actually being faster and more stable than western cards..

There is a total of three facts I know can be different. Bus width, memory size, metal fins of the heatsink.

So what's the true difference of having a Taobao graphics card? As I see it, there is no performance impact. The difference may be only how people look at them. So I need to know because it is very technologically interesting.

Cool

Well I'd question those cards straight away.
For example:
You think you are buying a 750ti, but it turns out to be a rebranded 650 instead.

So in reality, until you buy it, get it home and actually run the card, you may have no clue what you actually purchased. Seen this a lot in past years on ebay.

If it's not a brand you recognize, then don't (unmentionable word here) buy it.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)

Are you saying that bus width and memory size dont affect performance? They do/can.

The real problem with buying an off brand is that some can be fakes. They take some low level card flashed to read differently as a better card.

what is an 'oppositely built' cooler....'such as metal fins'???

Do you have any proof of these ever being faster or 'more stable' (w/e the heck that means)? Makes zero sense...

Is this thread really trying to present the MERITS of knock off GPUs???????

No one reported it, and it didn’t get enough traffic to get seen. Looks alike all the people complaining about it just posted in it. Makes as bout as much sense as the thread itself.

The cards i deal with were miners,

Once in a blue moon we get cards claimed to be a 1060/ti and they are 450s, 550s, 750s, 960s actually.

You know, I am ok with miner cards... unless they didn't flash it back to stock.

That's totally return material for me.
