NVIDIA today released the latest version of its GeForce Software suite. Version 440.97 WHQL comes game-ready for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare," and "The Outer Worlds," including SLI support for the latter on "Turing" GPUs. SLI support is also added for "The Darwin Project." The drivers also introduce G-SYNC support for OpenGL and Vulkan games and applications.

Among the bugs fixed are crash-to-desktop (CTD) on FIFA 19 and FIFA 20; random flickering in "Apex Legends," CTD on "Star Wars: Battlefront II," an application crash with "Growtopia," missing objects in "Tradesmen," flickering in the character-selection screen in "World of Warcraft," a ghosting effect when moving the brush tool in Cinema 4D; a game crash with "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" in DirectX 12 mode, color corruption in "Forza 4," and problems with boosting GeForce GTX 970M. Grab the drivers from the link below.

We've always had that. What's different is WINDOWED mode gsync support.

Correction please, @btarunr

Work just fine for me. No issues encountered for the past 12 years with any NVIDIA drivers I've had installed so far.

God, I'm so f*cking tired of seeing NVIDIA being constantly bashed in all the news pieces which are related to the company even the said news pieces have nothing bad in it.

NVIDIA solves issues in their drivers? NVIDIA is bad! They don't solve other uncommon issues which affect a couple of hundred people in the entire world!
NVIDIA solves issues in their drivers? NVIDIA is bad 'cause they have those issues in the first place!
NVIDIA solves issues in their drivers? NVIDIA is bad because AMD doesn't have them.

No one f*cking blinks an eye about AMD having major issues with their drivers and products as if everything produced by AMD is just f*cking perfect. As if AMD's GPUs have suddenly won in every metric. Oh, wait, their 7nm GPUs are still inferior to 12nm NVIDIA's GPUs in terms of performance per watt.

And it's almost the same in each discussion about NVIDIA sans reddit/nvidia or geforce forums.

You don't like NVIDIA's pricing model or/and products? Don't f*cking buy anything which has NVIDIA painted on it. Stop with your f*cking uncalled for, unwarranted insults, you little pieces of shat who don't have any kind of successful international business and hide behind nicknames just to feel cozy and warm in your AMD tribe. It's totally retarded to take sides or to be a blind rabid fanboy.

What the f*ck is wrong with you people?

Sometimes I so f*cking hate people.

Me on other hand, I hate humanity 101% of the time.

Agreed that nVidia hate is pretty stupid.. I had driver issues with both manufacturers and couple more with manufacturers that either dont exist anymore or are bit too fringe. :D Making perfect drivers is near impossible today.

I love you VESA Video driver. You have no bugs, because you do almost nothing!

It’s not releasing next week...on Steam. That doesn’t mean it isn’t releasing or that it doesn’t need a driver.

It's releasing somewhere, otherwise no pint releasing drivers for a game that releases 2020...

That was my point: That Steam is not the only place games release.

Skimmed change log and no mention of HDMI 2.1 VRR, which seems a bit odd to me. Linux 440 -series driver added support for HDMI 2.1 VRR for Turing cards and newer.

Is that possibly because there isn't a single GPU on the market that uses the HDMI 2.1 standard? HDMI 2.0b, yes, but not HDMI 2.1.

I wish there was (and with full support for VRR via HDMI), because I might theoretically have a 4K/2160p, 120 Hz, 55 in (140 cm) monitor (TV), but I have no way to test that theory. As it is, since there are no GPUs with HDMI 2.1, the best I can do with VRR is 1440p @ 120 Hz or 4K/2160p @ 60 Hz and only with AMD since Nvidia doesn't support VRR via HDMI (there are no DisplayPorts on the TV, obviously, or I'd use that).

Rolling back to the old driver. Just installed the latest 440.97 and Apex legends Crashed for the first time ever. Apparently it says it's removed my GPU from the device. WTF! Can anybody help me with this.
