HyperX, the gaming division of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., today announced it has sold over 10 million gaming headsets as it begins shipping its newest lifestyle headset, the Cloud MIX Rose Gold Edition. Since developing the first HyperX Cloud gaming headset in 2014, HyperX has produced 30 headset models, establishing itself as a leading PC and console gaming headset brand and moving into the lifestyle market with its Cloud MIX line of headsets. In addition, HyperX leads market share for PC compatible headsets according to latest NPD data.

HyperX also achieved milestones in two additional categories by shipping over one million gaming keyboards and 65 million memory modules. HyperX Alloy mechanical gaming keyboards launched with Cherry MX switches and now HyperX continues to build its gaming keyboard lineup with the release of the HyperX Alloy Origins mechanical gaming keyboard, including proprietary mechanical key switches. HyperX memory products include FURY and Predator DDR4 branded memory modules and include RGB modules with customizable LED lighting using NGENUITY software.

"Hyperx continues to exceed our expectations in market share, firmly established as both a leader in PC headsets and a pioneer in the gaming industry," said Mark Leathem, general manager, HyperX. "Shipping over 10 million headsets is impressive enough, but given the keyboard and memory milestones, it shows what a powerhouse Hyperx has become in the gaming industry."

As HyperX expands into the lifestyle market with its newest Cloud MIX Rose Gold Edition headset, it has developed a network of lifestyle brand ambassadors from a variety of backgrounds, including Grammy award winner Post Malone, JuJu Smith-Schuster of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Gordon Hayward of the Boston Celtics and a range of influencers and streamers. HyperX also recently launched its first apparel collaboration with Champion Athleticwear.

My Cloud 2s are still working well to this day. Better than the Razer Kraken 7.2 V2 (USB) I previously had.

Those HyperX headphones are one of the great rebrand marketing stories. If Kingston hadn't tried to buy and rebrand these towards gaming the landscape would be a lot different, and not for the better with the likes of Razer & Logitech IMO.

My Cloud 2s are still working well to this day. Better than the Razer Kraken 7.2 V2 (USB) I previously had.

Just bought a 2nd one for traveling. They really do hold up well. Only things that have broken is one of the cables on the USB soundcard dongle and then replacing the ear pads. Both can be replaced via Kingston direct, no fuss.

I'd love to talk to whoever designed the Cloud series and ask them how much research they did before doing it. Because they did a design that solves for nearly every major complaint against other brands. My only complaint still is that they don't have a real 5.1 surround model, just simulated 7.1. Headsets with real 5.1 sound soooooo much better. Just, all of them are made with some of the crappiest plastic possible. They fall apart on your head. If I had money and extra time, I'd love to see if I could mod one of them into a Cloud II's frame.
