ChangXin Memory Technologies, a Chinese startup founded in 2016 that was formerly known as "Innotron Memory", now claims that it has become China's first and only domestic DRAM supplier. Following the announcement that it started production of domestic DRAM chips, ChangXin is now reportedly shipping its first DRAM wafers. With an output of around 20000 wafers per month, the company is currently building LPDDR4, DDR4 8Gbit chips using the "10-nanometer class" node, which is supposed to be 18 or 19 nm size in reality.

The company expects to double its wafer output to 40000 wafers per month sometime around Q2 of 2020 when additional expansion facilities will start production. ChangXin plans to soon open two more manufacturing facilities to start manufacturing even more wafers, in addition to its Fab 1. So far ChangXin has laid-out plans to start manufacturing DRAM technology based on stack capacitor, which is different from the usual trench capacitor technology few companies are pursuing.

It's interesting though that a company started in 2016 and already have IP for dram manufacturing by the end of 2019. IP theft? Copy?

Sure they can only copy and commit theft.

Keep up this mentality and the west will be doomed in a few decades.

They both share long factual histories of dirty, corrupt, abusive, and exploitative behavior and practices.

So does basically any successful nation in the long human history. How did European settlers (AKA the founding fathers and mothers) got the land in NA from the Indians here? Politely asking? Or straight up murdering their way out?

There is no morale high horse here.

I hope they would start competing on the high end of the spectrum too, not just on the cheap, shitty DRAM one.

There is a bit of a difference between something that has happened in the past (and that you are not necessarily even accurately portraying), and something that is going on right now, in "current year"...

Correct, but there is a difference between morale high horse and not rooting for totalitarian regimes that are for example, currently re-enacting some WW2-like events that we've already seen pass us by and have collectively (China is also part of the U.N...!) declared as horrible and despicable . Nor is it nice to see people rooting for states that are pretty damn far in Big Brother society, up to the point of social credit systems, rehabilitation camps (!) and actual repercussion if you don't comply with whatever floats the Chinese boat. Nor is it great to see tons of carcinogenic product being shipped to us by the thousands of packages per day; stuff containing chemicals we've long banned from our markets or regulate heavily .

Should I go on, or did the penny drop by now?

This was never about morale high horse, its about a simple us versus them, because even if WE don't want to look at it that way, simple demographics combined with a totalitarian regime like this, really does.

It's amazing how the mainstream media makes people think they know everything about places they have never been to.

It does a great job brain washing the mass population. Either forcefully in some “dictatorship” countries or subtly in others. Media is all about control, see from here they do a damn fine job.

I take it you don't pay much attention to it then, and yes, ignorance is bliss, isn't it ;)
