Not content to let AsRock call out all of the enthusiast's attention for today, XFX has (perhaps not so inadvertently) leaked their upcoming interpretation of the AMD RX 5600 XT. Named the THICC II PRO STAGING (that's somewhere between a mouthful and two), it apparently features the same cooling solution as the RX 5500 XT THICC II PRO as well as a similar color scheme - black and bronze. According to XFX, the RX 5600 XT does indeed feature 2304 Stream Processors and 6 GB of 12 Gbps GDDR6 in a 192-bit memory configuration.

The graphics card isn't actually that bad of a looker with its rounded edges and almost full-black industrial design. XFX are quoting a game clock at 1460 MHz, which is higher than what has been leaked as the AMD reference. Video output includes 1x HDMI and 3x DisplayPort. XFX offers a three year limited warranty on the graphics card.

Fair enough, both companies brought out some badly engineered cards. How or why these were authorized for selling is bizarre, hopefully not to be repeated.

I think the staging part isnt part of the final name. Staging is to represent or show like when you sell a home with furniture you stage it.

The render was most likely called staging.

With all the garbage cooling xfx had been doing lately, I'll be very curious for the reviews...

First time poster here. I've been a system builder for 30 years. I have purchased XFX video cards in the past so I decided to purchased a XFX 5700XT, Reference card blower style during the holidays to get something on sale. I purchased this card so I can test first hand the heat and sound problems I've been hearing and post my results in a private forum. I was disappointed on the lack the quality control as well as the workmanship on this card. They definitely cut corners, but finding loose screws, some of them with lock tight on it and just barely finger tight is not acceptable. The fan assembly they threw in a 75mm fan in a 85mm space. With a 5mm space gap on each side and cut outs so that air could leave where the power pins are, no wonder the fan has to work at higher speeds. I'll be modding the thing to see I can bring down the temps as well as the noise.

I also purchased a Dell Vision Tek RX 5700 and have had no issues at all, but it seems that people are having issues with XFX. Just reporting my issues on this site.

All the reference (blower) coolers should've come from Sapphire/PowerColor (or whoever AMD/RTG turns to for making their reference cards), so it's not XFX themselves who messed up with your card, unless they handled or shipped it wrong. FWIW, my reference 5700 XT (Sapphire) is pretty solid (impressive, even), so your XFX reference card must've been a bad apple in the batch.

Ahh... I'm glad they got Batman to design it this time around. People said they wanted XFX to make their cards cooler, so XFX called the only man they knew of who could help.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks for posting, AMD reference cards are usually made by Sapphire with other AIBs adding their stickers on top. I'm not a big fan of XFX quality lately, but I do not believe they are responsible for reference designs. I'm surprised at Sapphire QA if this is the case. I haven't seen that myself.

I have an XFX 5700 THICC version and can say it actually stays decently cool under full load, about 85c with fans at 60%. Idle is 47c at 0%. Was told this card can take 100c+ but will NEVER attempt that lol. Card looks just about the same as this one too.

Considering the 5600 series competes with the 1660 series and the 570/580 were the 1060 competetors, Id say its a worthy upgrade outside grabbing a 5700 and flashing to xt spec

I like the design, how shroud is wrapped over the PCB. As for the temps, 32-34 °C on idle with 0 rpm, and 65-70° with fans running at 50% on my XFX RX480 GTR 8GB (also these temps could be this low because my case is really well ventilated). It's sad that here in this part of europe you need to pay something like 30 or 40 euros extra for an MSI's or ASUS' cooler. Would say I didn't make a mistake 3 years ago when I bought this card.

PlayStation will haw 10 video memory. Many best games haw collected already. Maybe console is better.

Wrong on multiple fronts! Sony and Xbox have yet to release any facts on new console memory much less what the split will be between system memory and video memory.

There is no game out there that currently needs 10gb of video memory and few that can even utilize that especially when discussing a card aimed at 1080p gaming.

Best looking card. Excellent for all-black build. Hopefully the backplate and plastic part has same tint, like in those pics, not like on 5700 XT Thick III where metal back plate is shiny and black plastic thing at the end of the card is matte, it´s ugly, does not match and spoils the card. And those chrome decorations look crap because they are just paint on top of fricking plastic. Metal shrouds to all high end cards! Like Asus had on Strix cards in the past, plastic is cheap looking crap, always.

Hopefully they'll finally fix their drivers for the time this comes out, 5700/XT is a mess for many, radeon settings bugs, instability and crashing games and sometimes SO like a champ.

Wow, that is a great looking design there. I really like that a heck of a lot. Really curious to see what it does. I already have a 5700 XT in my rig, but I may set up a second one with my extra bits and grab one of those to throw in it.
