EVGA's cost-effective GeForce RTX 2060 KO graphics card debuted at CES, at an attractive price of USD $299, a pricing that very likely had the blessings of NVIDIA. This card may very well be the first of many RTX 2060 custom-design cards by NVIDIA partners to compete with AMD's new Radeon RX 5600 XT being launched at $279. AMD claims performance leads over the price-matched GTX 1660 Ti, which held NVIDIA's fort under the $300 price-band, until now.

Over the weekend, EVGA formally launched the RTX 2060 KO, and already offered pre-order discounts on both its own web-store, and popular U.S. retailer Newegg, with the base RTX 2060 KO going for $279, and the factory-overclocked RTX 2060 KO Ultra priced at $299, with a $20 "instant rebate." This would put the RTX 2060 KO price-matched with the RX 5600 XT, and it would be interesting to see if AMD can respond with lower prices (which would then pancake both NVIDIA's and AMD's product-stack south of $250). EVGA is expected to ship the first orders of the RTX 2060 KO from this week.

Watch it be a limited time only for release launch price comparison.

Pauls Hardware reported from CES that its a week long sale then prices go up.

Man, did we EVER Have so many nearly the same cards on the shelves in midrange?

Its utterly ridiculous and best of it all, this happens with some of the smallest perf/dollar and absolute performance shifts of this last decade.

Wake me up when they get serious about performance again or this is fast going the way of Intel CPUs since Sandy Bridge: *just. No. Need* So far I can totally see myself hanging on to 1080p for a while longer and ditto GPU. 3 years now and the only realistic path forward is still 1080ti levels of performance. But at least we have barely functional RT. Thanks, Nv.

You can already get a cheap 2060 for $300.
Gigabyte 2060 OC costs exactly that in UE (+VAT). No extraordinary discounts included.

Temporary or not, this new price level will become normal soon enough (Ampere).

Doesn't it also reach 80c+ under load?

I was in the room as he filmed this, lol!

Jacob didn't mention to us the price is a limited time, however.

Yes, it does. But with acceptable case airflow it remains within limits or is just mildly throttled.

If you don't feel comfortable with high temperatures, there are many options with better cooling.
But if you're OK with 80*C, $50 can be put somewhere else.
Isn't choice great? :)

Benchmark Scores 3050 scores good 15-20% lower than average, despite ASUS's claims that it has uber cooling.
AMD should give 5600 the same price as 5700.
Just for lolz.

And then mock NV for dropping 2060 price for no reason.

The way you have worded your post looks like another fanboy (just Nvidia this time) so I don't know about those "normal" people you are talking about.

The way i have worded my post ? Hahaha care to explain ? Ohhh ok i see it's about feelings .... looks like i found another one here !

Ofc you don't know about those normal peoples , you are a fanboy how would you know ? Those normal peoples im talking about will be happy when prices go down no matter the brand , and will certainly not apply double standards unlike some of the comments you can read above , this is what my original comment was about .

You being a fanboy ofc you got triggered by my comment targeting those kind of peoples ( your kind ) which is not surprising to say the least and the fact that you accuse me being an Nvidia fanboy ( ironic cause my CPU begs to disagree with you ) when i only mentioned fanboys in general in my comment speaks volumes about your kind ..........

Sure Nvidia has told AIB's on these "lowest binned" chips, with what are pedestrian coolers to drop price. It's just they're now starting to have to play in a actual competitive market and saying to their AIB's you need to relinquish on the margins we (Nvidia) have been propping-up for you to make over the last year. It will probably mean Nvidia even issuing kick-backs on chips AIB's purchased over the last couple of months. Seeing this is a 20% reduction from the MSRP from a year ago we see Nvidia actually having to adjust their product stack/pricing to defend the segment. This also probably is the confirmation for the ToD of the GTX 1060 Ti, that most have been predicting as in the works for a while. This is something I don't recall at least this drastic over the last 3-4 years.

It's what we all clamor for all the time and this is a good sign of the strength of the competition.

Same as Newegg. Paul Hardware was right about the pricing but it was shorter then a week.
Odd.. it shouldn't be... here is a snip from Nvidia email I was sent yesterday.......literally 24 hours to the MINUTE, lol!

..........

Currently GeForce RTX 2060 cards can be found for as low as $299 online:

EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 KO (Newegg)

EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 KO (EVGA Store)

GeForce RTX 2060 Founders Edition (GeForce.com Store)

Prices for the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER start at $229:

ASUS GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER Overclocked (Newegg)

EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER Black Gaming (Newegg)

Gigabyte GTX 1660 SUPER MINI (Newegg)

Both GPUs support the latest G-SYNC updates as well as the new Max Frame Rate and Variable Rate Supersampling features that were just added to the latest Game Ready Drivers at the beginning of 2020.

They sent this email out to most reviewers just to make sure they knew the price of the EVGA card and they lowered the FE.

And...... https://www.anandtech.com/show/15412/nvidia-cuts-price-of-geforce-rtx-2060-to-299

EDIT: And here it is for $299..................... at EVGA and Newegg. Remember, it is the EVGA KO only that is $299 (they also have an OC version for $319). The $279/$299 was the pre-order price (see 1st post)...$299/$319 is the new final price, lower than the rest (as of last week) and $50 under the original MSRP. Paul also said, "I think" for a week. So, if you were talking about the pre-order price (I wasn't in my response - because why... pre-order price is just that.. PRE-ORDER... the card is now out), of course that was temporary. :)
