TechPowerUp today released the latest version of NVCleanstall, our handy utility that lets you have far greater control over your NVIDIA GeForce software installation. Today's release of version 1.4.0 is hot on the heels of Monday's 1.3.0 release, because we discovered a handful additional things that needed fixing or polish. To begin with, we improved the MSI (enable message signaled interrupts) toggle to work correctly in all cases. We also fixed a bug that caused the "New Version" popup to always show v1.1.0 as the latest available. We also polished the advanced tweaks panel, removing empty spaces when a non-DCH driver is used. Grab NVCleanstall 1.4.0 from the link below.

The change-log follows.
  • Fixed "Enable Message Signaled Interrupts" to work correctly in all cases
  • Fixed "New version available" always showing version "1.1.0" as latest
  • Removed empty space in "Tweaks" panel on non-DCH drivers

I tried to use NVCleaninstall on a fresh Win7 install without any graphics drivers other than the standard VGA graphics adapter and an 800x600 resolution on a 19" screen and ran into the issue where the NVCleaninstall window is to big for the screen and the next button is not visible so I can't click it and proceed with the installation.
The window doesn't allow resizing so I couldn't make it smaller to fit on the screen and it snaps into the middle of the screen so I can't move it either.
So I had to install the original Nvidia drivers first and then reinstalling them clean with NVCleaninstall once the screen resolution was proper.

Nice find, I'll change it so that next version will add scrollbars if the window doesnt fit. The problem is only height, not width?

Yes, only height: the title bar and the lower part of the window with the next button are not visible.

Are some options « card specific » ?
On a 2070 when customizing the installer I can see the DLSS Anti-Aliasing option, however, when running it on a system with a 2080 Super, that option was not there. Both tested on 1.4. Any idea?

with the same driver? that's impossible. the options are the same for all cards, based on the driver package.
Both 2070 and 2080S use the same driver

Yep, using the latest 442.19 . I'll see if I can get you screenshots of both.
