I'm wondering how much Biostar has ancient crap lying around since they release new obsolete products one after another? Wasn't too long ago when they released a H61 motherboard... Yeah, a motherboard with 9 years old chipset.

This dang processor is like 6 years old too (04/29/2014 = 2152 days old via NotebookCheck). This is them just shoveling back stocked garbage to consumers. You can buy off lease optiplex desktops with i5-2500S, 8GB RAM, power supplies, and a 500gb hard drive for $50-75 bucks on ebay. No price announced from Biostar, but if this is anything more than $30, it's a joke.

And you can make a lightweight gaming PC from those old office PCs.. this with an obsolete APU which was slow even when released, is just insane.

This is for ITX/HTPC/NAS builds. Better than just wasting them i suppose, there are people who will buy them like the rx590gme cards...

It's far more better option to just use something existing for that purpose, a slow dual-core APU like this struggles even with normal desktop usage.

ITX? Yes. HTPC? No, it lacks modern codec support. NAS? Who builds a DIY NAS with two SATA ports?

I'd guess this is for internet kiosk/PoS usage and similar low-budget low-load uses. Possibly extremely low-budget office PCs. But most likely just as a drop-in replacement for existing gear of similar performance that's failing due to age.

Obviously they can, but for anything already deployed on hardware similar to this that would mean switching to a different OS and recompiling any software used for it, if not buying new licences, and configuring and troubleshooting everything again.
