Activision Announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered

Activision today announced the reincarnation of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, called Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered. "Originally developed by Infinity Ward, and now remastered by Beenox, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered delivers the full story experience with stunning high-definition visuals and the latest audio advancements. Whether you lived it back in 2009 or have yet to play this iconic blockbuster campaign, this is an experience hailed by critics as one of the most memorable and incredible single-player story campaigns ever." - said Activision in their announcement blog post.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is now available on the PlayStation 4, while support for the rest of the platforms will come on April 30th. Below you can check out the game trailer.

Mw2 is rather memorable for me. It marked the last time I ever bought An Activision game

I did not like what CoD turned into going from CoD4 to MW2. All the features they removed from the previous games was just too much and the multiplayer was overrun with botters

They kind of span from the original MW-MW2.

MW2 still has a huge online following.....I swear more people play that than all the other CoD's combined LOL...helps you can play it on pretty much any modern iGPU.

I want to see a remake of Soldier of Fortune with high texture gore and more hit points. Also, remake all the old space sims like X-Wing Alliance, Wing Commander, and Freespace.

This is the same for me... I have not paid for a CoD since MW2. I just can't bring myself to buying the same game over and over. people tell me that they are different... though the graphics have gotten better the game is nearly the same. I also don't buy Battlefield games after 3... they just kept releasing the same game over and over as well 4 was a carbon copy.

I have been playing WarZone, free to play and it is different from everything out there and has some cool game modes. it is beta and has some of those beta bugs. I have not and will not buy the new CoD, even though it is on sale. my biggest fear is they will release a new one in 6 months and the money I spent will be a waste because no one will be playing it again.

Exactly this. I guess people have forgotten how CoD4:MW Re-master was released. All the optional extras that existed in the original game was cut away and placed behind a paywall for people to buy all over again for the 10th or 20th time.

I still havent forgotten how some maps from the first game Like Brecourt, Carentan made it into most CoD games on the PC and Console up until CoD4. They were renamed, re-skinned and sold as part of map packs. Maximum profit for very little effort.

But then again. InfinityWard kind of died when they partnered up with Activision. Like most studios that get bought up by them. Activision is sitting on a gold mine of some amazing IPs that it will never see the light of day.
