Windows 10 2004 May update is set to bring a heap of new features to the OS, along with performance improvements in the form of a fixed search indexer. According to the latest report form Windows Latest, we have information that the update version 2004 will reintroduce Bluetooth A2DP sink, a feature from Windows 7 era. The Bluetooth A2DP sink allows users to stream audio from their phones to PC speakers, using Bluetooth technologies. This is a useful feature is you want to play music via your phone on louder speakers connected to your PC, and we are sure users are going to appreciate this. The Bluetooth A2DP sink feature was present in Windows 7 OS, however, Microsoft has later disabled that in Windows 8 OS and it hasn't been available since. The Windows 10 May update is expected to roll out between May 26th and May 28th.

So that is why the Bluetooth dongle that I purchased two weeks ago didn't work with my speakers. Not sure if I should be annoyed that in my anger I threw it in the trash thinking it was defective or just your average Bluetooth fickleness; or if I should be glad that I did not purchase a second one, as it also would not have worked.

While it is no excuse, isn't the very nature of an infinitely legacy backwards compatible OS with support for every Tom, Dick and Harry released software/hardware/device always gonna be buggy?

Won't Windows only stop being buggy when it drops a boat load of well...bloat in its code which of course will break everything pre-20XX?

No.

It has way more to do with them basically dismissing the Q&A department.

This is a useful feature is you want to play music via your phone on louder speakers connected to your PC

Perhaps I am missing something here, but I am doing exactly this right this very moment, using my Note 10, a pcie BT card, JBL studio speakers, and W10Pro..........

No.

It has way more to do with them basically dismissing the Q&A department.

At least they ditched the crazy six month release cadence.

And yes, I will use this feature liberally. I might even reinstall the os from scratch just to get this feature (no internet at home so can't update).

Any chance of a feature writeup for 2004?

Will have to test.

I'll never understand why it makes any sense for software developers to disable features in newer versions of their products.

If you have left Win 7 to its default update policies, it definately got all the telemetry cr@p that comes with Win 10.

If you don't want all those pesky 'features' you'd have to put significant effort to filter them out.

Either way, I see no point sticking to Win 7, no matter the use case.
