Sony Releases Last of Us Part II Limited Edition PS4 Pro Bundle

We're all counting down the days till we rejoin Ellie in her journey next month, and today, we are thrilled to announce the Limited Edition The Last of Us Part II PlayStation 4 Pro bundle, which will launch alongside the game on June 19, 2020. This special bundle features a fully customized matte finish PS4 Pro console engraved with Ellie's tattoo design, a Limited Edition DualShock 4 Wireless Controller, a physical copy of The Last of Us Part II game, as well as a code to redeem digital content such as The Last of Us Part II PS4 dynamic theme, avatars, and more. This limited edition bundle will be available across the U.S. and Canada for $399.99 USD (MSRP) / $499.99 CAD (MSRP).

The Limited Edition DualShock 4 Wireless Controller also will be available as a standalone for $64.99 USD (MSRP) / $74.99 CAD (MSRP). Presented in a Steel Black matte finish with white detailing and PlayStation shapes, this Limited Edition wireless controller features Ellie's iconic fern tattoo engraved on the lower right hand side and The Last of Us Part II logo on the touchpad.



When we first revealed The Last of Us Part II, we had no idea how quickly fans would embrace Ellie's tattoo. Within a day, we started seeing real-life versions showing up on social media and fans have been sharing photos of their new tattoos with us week after week ever since.

When the opportunity arose to create a custom PS4 Pro for The Last of Us Part II, I worked with our graphic designer at the time, Angel Garcia, and we considered a few different ideas, but we kept coming back to Ellie's tattoo. By that point, it had become a symbol of the game and for the community-much like the Firefly logo in the first game. It was the clear choice, but we wondered: what if it could be engraved? It hadn't been done before, so we weren't sure it was even possible, but thanks to the incredible efforts of the teams at PlayStation, we found a way.

The result is something we feel is really special-a design that honors the passion of our incredible fans and that we ourselves would be proud to own.

Lastly, we're partnering with Seagate to introduce the Limited Edition The Last of Us Part II Officially Licensed Seagate 2 TB Game Drive. The PS4 Pros have been sold out almost everywhere for a few months now (I checked Amazon, Best Buy, etc.). I've been wanting to upgrade from my original PS4 (1st generation, before the Slim) since last year, but I kept putting it off. Looks like I'll have to wait for the PS5 unless I can get a good deal for a new Pro ($300 to $350).

Though with that said. the PS5 is gonna be pretty expensive and from what I hear the supply is going to be quite limited either deliberately for financial reasons or because Covid-19.

This Limited Edition seems to be pretty low effort and given all of the negative press surrounding Sony and Naughty Dogs negative handling of TLOU2 news leaks, This Limited Edition might not be the best purchase if you are a die hard TLOU fan.

This game is hot garbage from the leaks, insane political messages and awful story writing to the point of no return. I hope Sony realizes their pandering mistake. But still I wonder who is going to buy this soybox. Also PS4/XB1 gen is very bad to own no good games at all, have to buy that GaaS to experience old titles it's a waste, better get a PS3 hackable and enjoy the old gen and esp the true Kratos, God of War Saga.

So what, there is a recent special edition of a console with effort put in it and now we get the a regular one with some molding on the case. I Don't care who does it.

There are external HDDs from console makers because everything is installed nowadays, even on consoles.

I see it on the PC end, so, the idea of installations is not new to me. I guess it's kind of cool that you get a form of physical medium that the game is stored on. So, the discs sold in the retail stores are just for installs? No more reading from an optical disc? My gawd, that would take forever. I got so used to storing game installs on 2 separate NVME drives that there is no way I'd ever go back to loading screens that take longer than 5 seconds.

I still have a PS3, but don't use it for games. Not anymore at least. The internal battery is done and last I checked, looks like too much work to change for how little I use it. Probably will get the PS5 though and start using it for a few games.

Well, there are discs to up to 100gb. But since PS3/X360 days, the option to intstall it on an HDD has been normalized for console, it's more convenient. Also patches are a thing on console now, online stores and also the new approach eliminating reading bottlenecks and going SSD for next gen. They could have perfectly gone the flash card route but this is how things are rolling.
