Microsoft began rolling out the Windows 10 May 2020 Update (version 2004) to the public. You can have Windows Update check for updates, and offer to upgrade Windows whenever it's available; or head over to the Microsoft website in the link below, and get the Windows Update Assistant and upgrade now. Windows 10 May 2020 Update introduces improved Network Connections, particularly with Bluetooth; the new DirectX 12 Ultimate API that enables richer gaming experiences, the Windows Hello. Hitting the Windows key + . (period key) invokes the new emoji menu that includes Kaomojis. Improvements have also been made to Edge, Cortana, and Windows Accessibility.

I think it's older? The feature (the emoji menu/panel) has been referenced as far back as 1709. The Kaomojis themselves are a newer addition...

There's no hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling for AMD cards it seems. why? has AMD made a public statement about this.
Because its not showing up for me.

They're working on it, from what I read of one of their reps on Reddit. But it's not available in 20.5.1.

Wait a month for any show stoppers before updating. Still on 1809, I think that was the 4th update in place, think the PC is due for a format and fresh install.

Nope. Kaomojis have been made available for quite some time now.

You're right, they've been around since 1903 at least.

Wait a month for any show stoppers before updating. Still on 1809, I think that was the 4th update in place, think the PC is due for a format and fresh install.

It's disappointing that Microsoft has forced users to be even more cautious than usual about Windows updates...

I installed it on my main rig. Running fine so far. Only thing is I need to reinstall Creative driver, but perhaps that is because it somehow default to SPDIF after the update. Playing a couple of games, Witcher 3 and Planetside 2, no problem at all.

I’m actually a fan of these kaomojis over emojis. I’ve had a few saved in my shortcuts for years now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Has anyone noticed any performance improvements in gaming with this release coupled with Radeon Settings 20.5.1 or 20.4.2 WHQL ?

I think in this update they added a couple of new kamojis. But a lot of articles say they added the Win + . shortcut. The biggest thing is the addition of WSL 2 In my opinion. :)

I was not contradicting this. I was only stating that the perception that this is a new thing is spread by a lot of articles.
