Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
Base model looks interesting and semi-reasonable for the price, but charging $480 more for an extra $60 of hardware is enough reason for me to write these guys off.

From what I saw in their past lineup, they tend to segment their offer very well, so it might not be the only differences. Did you find the detailed specs of the series?

Anyways, I think this one would have made way more sense with Tiger Lake.

Extremely pricey, the hardware isn't good enough for gaming (even though it looks like it was made for that purpose), and the small size makes it unusable for any serious work. I love portable little things, but this one has gone a bit too far. I'd rather buy a Nintendo Switch for portable gaming, or a 12-14" laptop for portable work.

I appreciate the idea, though. :)

i'm going off the article which implies those three items are the only options. Given how tightly integrated this must be inside, I doubt there's scope for a higher-TDP processor or other changes.

As for Tiger Lake, they'll likely release a V2 with that once availability is there, which for Tiger Lake is likely to be a long way away. Intel's 10nm yields are catastrophically bad and even if Intel say that Tiger lake yields are "better", that's an exceptionally low bar to clear. Having your leg chopped off is "better" than having your head chopped off - that doesn't mean having your leg chopped off is good.

Well on the one mix pro, which is 8.4 inch, they have a choice of 5 processors, typically from 10100y to 10500y, with 8100y and other older chips available too. They also have different screens and batteries sometimes.

Anyway, I like the idea of having a decent amount of power in such a small package, too bad I have such a poor eyesight. I'll have to wait for Amd to come with a decent APU for tablets/convertibles...

It's almost like someone saw a Nintendo Switch and thought I would like a big flip screen on that, let's add a keyboard too.

This is the competition for the GPD Win Max at the moment. But the GPU is about a third as powerful as the one on the Win Max. Also, the Win Max comes in one configuration at present, 16 GB of DDR4 instead of DDR3 and with a 512 GB m.2 SSD. It's a pretty heavy premium that One Netbook is asking for the 1080p screen and smaller form factor.

The controllers look interesting but they are not included. Also, if Nintendo has problems building joycons reliably at a higher price, I'm not too optimistic about this company building a detachable gaming controller for less money and even comparable quality.

These mini laptops are pretty cool. I backed the Win Max and am looking forward to a switch-like way to play PC games on the couch. I'm not excited about this particular take on the concept but the more competition, the better.
