EK, the European premium liquid cooling gear manufacturer, is releasing a series of unique flow indicators that belong to the Quantum Line. These Quantum flow indicators visually represent the coolant flow rate, which is often hard to see with the naked eye. This can be very useful to instantly see if your loop operation is nominal or there's trouble with the pump or flow in some other area as well as looking cool! It also features addressable RGB illumination where the LEDs are covered by a stylish black anodized aluminium cover to hide the hotspots. Aside from the standalone option, there are two more that mount directly on the EK-Quantum Vector GPU water block.

This standalone flow indicator features three G1/4" ports, all of which are female. It can be mounted mid tube run with two fittings or fastened to any G1/4" port on a radiator, pump, or even a block via the use of a dual male-threaded extender. Any of the threads can be used as either inlet or outlet. It can be used in a straight flow-through setup, or it can replace a 90° angled fitting, or a 90° bend in your loop.

EK-Quantum Scalar Flow Indicator D-RGB
These GPU-mounted flow indicators are made to replace the stock terminal with the one integrating the flow indicator. They come in two variants, with either top-bottom flow or bottom-top flow pattern. Flow patterns are mandatory to be followed for proper operation of the indicators.

All EK-Quantum flow indicators are manufactured out of CNC machined cast acrylic material with an anodized aluminium cover that has the same finish as EK-Quantum Vector GPU backplates for a seamless aesthetic blend. The aluminium cover is used to also cover any LED hotspots, as proper LED implementation is one of EK's key missions when designing a product. The flow indicator features a unique impeller body with a closed center and sloped impeller wings which prevent air from being stuck inside the indicator.

RGB Compatibility
These products are compatible with popular RGB sync technologies from all major motherboard manufacturers as well as EK-Loop Connect. The arrow marking on the 3-pin LED connector is to be aligned with the +5V marking on the D-RGB (aRGB) header.

Availability and Pricing
The EK-Quantum Flow Indicators are available for order through the EK Webshop and dedicated reseller network. In the table below, you can see the manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP).
  • EK-Quantum Flow Indicator D-RGB - Black 34.90€
  • EK-Quantum Scalar Flow Indicator Top-Bottom D-RGB - Black 54.90€
  • EK-Quantum Scalar Flow Indicator Bottom-Top D-RGB - Black 54.90€

I’d love to see EK’s take on an in-line temp sensor with a display like the ones from barrow and bykski. If they ever make one, that is. It would be sexy indeed.

that right angle flow meter both measures and measurably reduces flow. it's like a 2-1 Schrodinger model

It is crazy how one eastern european company believes they can charge more than a premium 100% made in USA manufacturer?
It's a mid range asian quality at best, wish.com hardware parts quality at worst.

Yes it does. Go check out fabrication quality of Optimus and compare that to this sorry excuse for a premium brand. The only thing premium is the price. You're much better off with other brands on any price point.

EK sources only extra virgin organic Acrylic from the pristine lakes of Grand Teton, contracting natives at Fair WagesTM.

Then slaps on another 4000% markup.

Stating it's CNC machined cast acrylic means nothing if they stuff the design up.
They should have made a curved flow path through the block, not a severe right angle.

Those guys don't even acknowledge a backing plate on AMD, not sure I'd hang my hat on them. Plus their blocks are really restrictive.

Hi,
Only reason optimus blocks are restrictive is of the center o-ring
Any simpleton can either remove it or shave it flush with a razor blade and restriction disappears leaving the best cold plate to date on the market best price too after seeing what ek did with pricing of magnitude lol

Optimus acrylic milling is absolutely the smoothest I've ever seen crystal clear they actually sharpen their bits once in a while lol

AMD back plate all you have to do is email support for one = done, in US no shipping charge.

Both of those designs are similar and a fail in my Opinion.
Coolant is virtually only going to flow over half the cold plate leaving a dead spot in both.

Hi,
No sir
Design is awesome I've tested both back in March and both are far superior, 4c cooler than anything ek has on the market and far less money.

The uneven milling as ugly as it may be promotes turbulent flow. You don't actually want a perfectly flat surface as laminar flow is not ideal.

Also, it's ironic as heck suggesting the user has to mod this thing given the comment "I" was replying to suggested that it was soo damn perfect to begin with. smh...

Hi,
Nothing is perfect but by far best I've seen compared to ek/ watercool.. so yeah I care more about cooling performance and optimus does do that so it fit my needs perfectly
Optimus foundation is 120.us, ek magnitude the cheapest acetal top is 240.us lol and isn't better just costs more/ looks are irreverent to me.

Not sure what the "flat surface" comment is about possibly you're referring to the cold plate bow which optimus cold plates are not flat 2066 fits the shape of the top of the chip.

The tooling marks, you know the thing you were complaining about affects the "type" of flow. How do you not know about laminar vs turbulent flow?

I’d love to see EK’s take on an in-line temp sensor with a display like the ones from barrow and bykski. If they ever make one, that is. It would be sexy indeed.

I use Bitspower temp sensors (6 of them ) in and out of the two rads + ambient and inside case temps ... all displayed on front of case in a 6 channel didplsy (Reeven 6 eyes) . The flow indicators are a failure point .... have to be taken out and cleaned when they stop spinning.
