I just received and installed my new speakers today, they are amazing, but I'm still getting this weird sort of distorted glow on all of my sounds.

This problem also occurred before I had these speakers, so I'm thinking it has to do with my soundcard or other hardware, but im not sure, any comments are appreciated.

New Speakers, just in case

Probably sound card, what do you mean glowing noise? Like it's a little too bright of a tone? What program are you using to play your music?

I've tried using a lot of different media players, its the same throughout all.

I mean at lower volumes its noticeable, but barely, but anything past half way on the volume knob and i lose noticeable quality and it sounds fuzzy and dirty

I shouldn't be jumping to a conclusion so quick, but it does sound like a sound card problem. What are your system specs? Also, are you using a dedicated card or integrated? Sounds like something when you put your guitar amp into distortion, it'll distort the sound. (uh duh, I'm horrible at explaining things)

Have you verified you're running the newest drivers?

Also, considering it is most likely a hardware/driver issue you should at least fill out your System Specs under UserCP (link in top horizontal menu, 2nd from left).

The more you can tell us, including driver versions, bios revision, motherboard revision etc, the more we can hopefully get your speakers sounding crystal clear.

My P5B Deluxe has some sound woes, for example the Front Panel Mic doesn't function properly 90% of the time, the other 10% is messing with settings after re-installing drivers that on occasion worked, but wouldn't stay set after a restart. Requiring me to hook up my headset into the rear main output/mic input plugs, and plug my main speakers into my front panel headphone jack (I like having the option of using either, or both, but my Soundmax drivers won't let me configure for both using the rear jacks...kind of a bummer). It's an issue I'm still working on, and I'm soon to get 5.1 headset that uses rear jacks (instead of USB), so using my 2.1 Logitec speakers (uses primary 2-channel jack) may and probably will still require front panel connection.

So if you have a P5B Deluxe, I might be able to help ya. If a different board, then I'm sure someone else can lend some good info, but you need to provide more (check my link in sig for a better example). I hope this is of some help, and I look forward to helping you solve this issue! :toast:

Did you check for most recent drivers???? What version are you currently using? Google that driver to see if anyone had problems with it, etc. Google is your friend for stuff like this, I found tons on my P5B, as I also use Integrated Audio, it's supposedly good for 7.1 audio. I'll test it's 5.1 with my new gaming headset.

Need more info Tearathal, please read my previous post and recommendations. Trust me dude, it will take less inquiring from us and more answers and possibly solutions for you. :toast:

First see if you have updated drivers. Then if that fails try a dedicated sound card (if you have one)

http://www.driverstock.com/ASUS-A8N32-SLI-Deluxe-driver-download/6-9-10192/index.html

But the most recent dated sound driver I saw there was from Oct. 17th, 2005. I don't know how many releases there are, I didn't even go to Asus's site, because it can be an issue by their design.

By Typing this into Google Search: A8N32 Sli Deluxe Sound Drivers (or replace drivers with issues)

I found all sorts of links about the sound issues with this board. You may find what you're looking for in one or some of those links, it may be a lot of reading, but unless someone has this board and problem, it may be your best bet for the moment. :toast:

Ahh, I don't use FireFox, IE7 and Opera for this guy, both work great, but Asus's site has been known to be slow, sometimes it's better to just go through their FTP site. I forget the link though...

Well it's an NV based chipset. might not hurt to read through them if the article is documented SOUND ISSUES. Is that using what I suggested for search? (I just used Drivers, didn't try issues)

I noticed nearly every result mentioned something about the mobo being awesome with the exception of the crappy buggy soundchip. Might as well just drop some cash on a new sexy soundcard

and then see if its just the integrated sound or something else.

Yep, that's pretty much the conclusion I had to come to with my P5B, it seems we have similar issues, I got my sound reproduction issues taken care of. Front panel does act up on sound output occasionally though, so my main speakers do get some reproduction issues from front panel, but not rear.

Sounds like Asus needs to get their act together for Onboard sound, I don't remember reading much about issues with the P35's, but I'm not interested unless I plan on upgrading, which won't be soon.

What card you planning on getting?
