TEAMGROUP today launches QX, the industry's first and largest consumer-grade, 15.3 TB 2.5" SATA solid state drive, shaking the industry with its powerful debut. The QX uses the latest 3D QLC flash memory and has up to 2,560 TBW of write life. It is super durable compared to other products in the industry, lightweight and compact, yet offers a high 15.3 TB storage capacity. The QX will revolutionize the consumer-grade 2.5" SATA SSD market with its market dominating specification.

The QX uses the latest 3D QLC flash memory, which not only has the industry's first and largest 15.3 TB storage capacity but also has industry's first write life up to 2,560 TBW. The ultra-high durability provides consumers with stability and reliability. The powerful QX supports smart dual Cache, including SLC Caching technology and DRAM Cache Buffer, delivering 560/480 MB per second of ultra-fast read/write speed for smooth user experience. At the same time, it also excellent features such as low power consumption, shock resistance, noise-free, etc. With the huge terabyte storage capacity of a mechanical hard drive and the read/write performance not found in traditional mechanical hard drives, it can revolutionize and redefine the consumer-grade 2.5" SATA SSD with its massive 15.3 TB storage capacity.

The QX not only has the largest 15.3 TB capacity and the highest write life of up to 2,560 TBW, but it also supports Windows TRIM optimization command which can release free blocks, allowing the operating system to use them later immediately when writing data. The optimized access control technology of NCQ can speed up the transfer and write performance of the SSD, and effectively reduces performance degradation and wear and tear of the drive. This can prolong the service life of the SSD perfectly. The built-in smart algorithm management mechanism has functions such as garbage collection which can ensure operation efficiency. The powerful Wear-Leveling technology and ECC (Error Correction Code) function enhance the reliability of data transfer and provide consumers a reliable, compact SSD with massive capacity.

MSRP: USD $3,990 for the 15.3 TB version.

Price is more than double for what it should have been, but maybe storage server builders will be happy, or don't care...

Nimbus is selling a similar drive for $2900. Still too expensive, $1499 would be more realistically.

3D OLC flash? :kookoo:

Unless you NEED to use a 2.5" storage bay, this is DOA because of the 3.5" Nimbus drive that's so much cheaper

Uff.... That's the same Nimbus is asking for 16TB 3D TLC drive with 5 years of warranty, or $1000 more than their QLC equivalent with less warranty.
For a "consumer-grade" SSD I'd like to see "consumer-grade" pricing, especially when paired with that measly 3-year warranty and QLC.
At $0.26/GB, it's wa-a-a-a-ay above of what I'm ready to pay for it... and space savings aren't that great either, considering I can throw in two quad-drive hotswap caddies for a much faster RAID and only use two 5.25" bays (or maybe even one bay, with newer 4TB-8TB 2.5" drives on the way).

Samsung 860 EVO 4TB drive costs 573 eur. It is TLC and is rated at 2400 TBW

4x573 an the price is 2292 eur and you get 9600TBW for that.

The only thing this team group ssd is good for is for having 16TB in one package rather than 4 separate packages

BUT
We have Samsung 870 QVO, an 8TB drive which costs 837 eur. Rated for 2880TBW
So just buying 2 of these will cost 1674 eur and will have a total of 5760 TBW

This pretty much means that this TEAMGROUP QX is DOA. Dead meat.
