Microsoft and EA have recently announced that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate & Xbox Game Pass for PC members will soon be receiving an EA Play membership at no additional cost starting this holiday. EA Play formally EA Access & Origin Access is the game subscription service from Electronic Arts which grants access to a library of over 60 EA games along with providing a variety of perks such as early access and discounts on new games. This means Ultimate members can enjoy EA Play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Windows 10 PCs, while Xbox Game Pass for PC members get EA Play on Windows 10. Microsoft seems to be going all-in with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with the launch of next-generation consoles with the recently announced console/subscription bundles and the android xCloud support.

This is huge. And you even get it with the normal game pass. I'm really surprised Microsoft was flexible enough with money to get EA interested. I can't imagine what the terms are.

Let's see how this looks a year from now.

Every time I see cloud services merge or go wild on pricing... I look at my Netflix sub, which has increased in price about 20% over the course of two years.

Nuff said, I think. So, this is how MS feeds the Xbox hype train... with subscription updates. The writing's on the wall. Beware

Thank you. Or an authentication server, or a service, or a company, or the content itself just vanished... Infinite possibilities, none of which you can control

What happens when your Netflix goes down? What happens when your internet goes down? All can be applied in the same context.

But not for a Game that you download the data to your PC but the key to enter said Game sits somewhere on the net. Steam works fine offline.

So glad I recently upgraded my XBox Live Gold to Gamepass Ultimate. It was only $5 a month more and I can play a lot more games than I would ordinarily be able to, and still buy games that I really want for a discount, AND get free games every month, AND the same account works on both XBox and PC.

implying netflix or similar increase sizeable amounts EVERY two years is not right if you merely happened to have it during one of the rare increases

why do you even have it if you're so clearly against these on demand services, maybe the cost benefit was that huge when utilizing the catalog instead of buying individual titles for dozens of dollars total every month, have the cake & hate it at the same time

(netflix even lets you login to multiple devices at the same time, further improving its value)

this is an unusually large amount of game titles available on multiple platforms (even pc), especially since new ones are included at their release... it's not a new thing being launched this fall, the competition's psplus has been around for exactly one decade adding multiple games per month
