Acer have recently unveiled the 4K 144 Hz XV282K KV gaming monitor with HDMI 2.1 connectivity. The XV282K KV is the first monitor from Acer to support HDMI 2.1 in addition to VESA DisplayHDR 600, and AMD FreeSync support. The monitor features a 28-inch 4K IPS panel with a refresh rate of 144 Hz which is reportedly sourced from Innolux. The monitor has been certified as VESA DisplayHDR 600 compatible and should offer 98% DCI-P3 coverage along with a contrast ratio of 1,000:1.

The XV282K KV comes with an adjustable stand that can be easily removed to expose the 100 mm x 100 mm VESA mount. The monitor also includes a single DisplayPort 1.4 connection in addition to the dual HDMI 2.1 ports. The monitor features an integrated USB 3.0 hub with four Type-A ports along with a 3.5 mm audio pass-through. The monitor was found for sale on the Chinese shopping site Taobao where it is currently listed for pre-order at 8,499 CNY (~1,245 USD). The monitor may see an international release in 2021 once Chinese pre-orders have been fulfilled.

I don't think the price is attractive. I feel there's a steep premium just to have HDMI 2.1 and HDR600.

At first when i looked at that Eve monitor, I thought what the hell are you talking about, then I found the 2 other models and actually think the 4K one looks very interesting! Thanks for the heads-up!

I just wish someone would do this with a better contrast ratio and 32" screen size.

But we are getting closer to having an acceptable PC monitor that is only 10 years behind my living room TV.

Sure, that's why people are already doing chargebacks on the very same eve monitors.

Only 28" HDR600 (basically not HDR) and very expensive, those 4k 144hz monitors should be around 500$, else you can get an OLED that has faster pixel response time, 120hz, true HDR (unlike LCDs), G-sync and freesync.

I don't know about that, I haven't heard about it.
They've always said Q4 2020 for shipping and their latest update that came out like a month ago seemed very promising on the fact that it'll be ready by Q4. There's been no setbacks nor mishaps so far, so I don't see why people are withdrawing their preorders. I'm keeping mine.

That is the good thing about capitalism, where is profit there will always be competition. As with everything, very expensive at beginning and then after 6 months or so, you buy the same monitor for 50% cheaper.

what is the eve spectrum? i have never heard of this before
Right now it's on pre-order, basically they're using LG panels and making three new monitors, Model 1 (1440p 144Hz, $399) releases in Q1 2021, Model 2 (1440p 240Hz, $499) and Model 3 (4K 144Hz, $599), all with modern features like IPS panels, FreeSync, etc. They recently increased the prices as the prices I listed were early bird-pricing. It's now $419/$569/$699 for Model 1, 2 and 3 respectively. I pre-ordered Model 2. Here's a link to their order page and one to their specs.

Yeah, as mentioned the pricing I got in at was just for the early people. Unfortunately it's now more expensive, but it's still cheaper than any competing monitors for the same specs.
And keep in mind when you order you only put down $100 and the rest is paid when it ships. The $100 is fully refundable too in case you change your mind.

EVE SPECTRUM... stay away!
Seriously guys, do your research. Making a monitor is COMPLICATED and that extends to the longevity/reliability of the device. It's really not a product you want to buy through people like this. I'm not just speculating as there have been plenty of problems with Eve Monitors.
Offering great specs is one thing. Delivering is another... not even sure how good the Warranty situation is, but I would suggest people look at a reliable 1440p monitor from Asus or similar that has good reviews over a 4K monitor that is yet to be released from a company with a questionable history.

on the Eve Spectrum monitor, is that stand $99 or free? cause at checkout it says free... and the 100 down applies to the 569 price of the monitor...

BUT

it also says the stand is $99 on the front page? i am so confused... man im really sad i missed out on the $499 price tag... this is like my dream monitor...

there is a coupon code at checkout, any chance you got some sort of code for being an early pre-order to share with one other person or one of those type of things?

The stand is $99 afaik, I didn't bother with it as I already have a multi-monitor stand. I believe they mention somewhere that they're happy they can shave off $100 for those that don't need a stand and therefore would have thrown it away anyway. So they both reduce e-waste but also reduce the cost for those with stands already.
I don't have a coupon code, no, sorry. Didn't get one for pre-ordering. I imagine some youtuber or something got a coupon code to give out at some point, but that's just me speculating.
I just rechecked my order and I was wrong, it was $529 not $499. So you're not missing out that much by ordering this late.

I'm worried about taking a dive on a company I have never heard of, but on same hand this is my dream monitor/specs for a decent price... I will skip the stand too and get the Pixio Vesa gas powered mount, its only 40ish dollars. Saves me another 60 plus its better.
