For example look at Venice in Italy and how close they are to get there. Global Warming is a FACT.
Venice is sinking. FACT. But do you know anything about Venice. It is essentially stone huts on wooden stilts on hard clay. ON CLAY. Not rock. CLAY. It is going to sink. Eventually. As the stilts (or wood piles) slowing sink into the clay or they just decay. Irrespective of whether sea levels rise or not.
Global Warming is a FACT? What does that mean? Temperatures have risen. Data fact. Temperatures are expected to rise. Modelling result with some uncertainty. But the concept Global Warming? Do you mean the Earth as we know it will always get hotter and hotter never stopping? Until the water boils? In fact, Global Warming is SO DISPUTED that we now call it CLIMATE CHANGE, because we are seeing significant and disruptive changes in weather patterns that are affecting our human lives. But not necessarily WARMING EVERYWHERE. And does warming actually harm the World or just us? (From a long term systemic standpoint).
Yes, temperatures have risen. And our human presence has accelerated it. But can we actually stop it? Perhaps we can't. Maybe it is increasing asymptotically toward some threshold number, at which point, it will turn and decrease. (This has happened many times over the millennia, before our interference). So our recent human behaviour of trashing the environment is speeding us along this curve which means we will get to the cooling point faster. Or we try to slow down global warming and it just means more years of misery before we get to that same turning point.
I leave you with a thought question: Who and what do we save by the measures you want to implement? And who benefits? Because it is nothing more than REDISTRIBUTION ECONOMICS. Not necessarily wrong. But be honest about the motive forces and the end result.
