4.6Ghz is only for 1 core, if all cores are under load then it should be 4.3Ghz
You might wanna overclock it manually if you want to make the most of it

Find these CPU settings in the BIOS, set the Core Ratio Limit to 46 and "Sync All Cores".

If it crashes after that you might need to adjust the CPU Voltage (CPU Core Voltage Override). (Note: just an example)

Can you smell what da Rock is cookin, hehehe....

But the above advice (manual o/c) is correct, however that doesn't mean it will be able to do what you want, or at least in a stable, reliable fashion, or perhaps without melting your cpu/mobo :)

Yes because 4.6ghz on modern intel cpus is so so so so high... He will probably need subzero cooling for that.

4.6 is EASY for 9600K, come on. Most problems start @5GHz, but I'm OK with 4.9, so idc lol

Yes, I've managed to find the MCE , it's on the first page of the BIOS screen.

Enabled it. ALL CORES at 4525Mhz. I'm so happy to see that.

Temperature were holding between 45_56C, is that good figures? That's when I was playing Civilizations VI

Looking at all the new AMD CPUs lately, is 9600K still "king if gaming CPU"?

Now I regret I put together the system last Nov. I should have waited until now....

If you regret putting that system together last Nov, you will regret putting an AMD system together now when there is Alder Lake coming end of next year.

well looking at your system specs - i'd suggest that rx570 will be a limitation first anymore . . .

It isn't but it's still a good CPU for gaming. I wouldn't worry about that.

I don't think he would regret and I'm sure none will regret getting an AMD system now. If, it comes out end of the next year. If it does, nobody knows how much faster it will be.

Asking for 15% increase is nothing extraordinary, so yeah i am pretty confident about my statement.

This is BS, and, extraordinary. They must offer 6 core performance in 4 core variant, and 8 core performance in 6 core. WITHOUT ANY COMPROMISES, like ram write speed issues or other crap things they did.

Yes, I wish to buy a 3080 to play 3A games. But it is very expensive.

I just ran Battlefield V.
Compared to The Division 2, BFV uses more CPU power. It's 55 to 80% most of the time, temp on all cores hopped to 61C.

Then I was thinking: should I get some more cores...It seems that some 3A titles are in favour of more cores/threads, Tech Deals seems to have predicted this correctly.

Is it a good option for you? Spending so much cash for 3080? You have a 1080p 60hz monitors unless you wanna buy 1440p 144hz at least for the 3080?
Also remember. The higher resolution you will end up with the less CPU power you need. If you go 3080 and play at 1080p 60hz what's the point? Basically any modern GPU can reach that frame-rate at 1080p. If you go 4k 144hz or 1440p 240hz you wont need as many core on the CPU. It all comes down to balance.

If I stick with the 1080p/60Hz monitor, I can still get 60FPS when the RTX 3080 runs with Ray tracing on. Note that Ray tracing ON imposes severe penalties on FPS. I have to make provision for that, isn't that the point?

Actually there is a YouTube video showing a 3570K/RTX 3080 combo, a bit insane

Run Transport Fever 2 and you will see it bleeds below 60FPS

By the way, what is the meaning of undervolt in the above video?

RTX 3080 shines in the game. Most RTX 2000 cards marginally make 60 FPS @ that resolution.

You can still lower the resolution in game if you want higher fps

I have considered this also. You're right, but that's like a manual DLSS?

IMage qualities will be blurred, won't they?
