From what I have heard, the K10 is dominating the Conroe in testing right now, even at lower clock speeds. On top of that, I hear that they are getting to 4ghz with ease. Not sure how valid my source is.

I wonder if Intel will release a new arcitecture, or if they will start clocking them at insane speeds with die shrinks like they did with Netburst...

XD K8 beat the sh*t out of Netburst because of the architecture design. As far as this article....it would be very nice to see this happen. But I have to doubt it, I mean if they got this score with say 8 cores at 2ghz...I'd take it as real. But this is way way better than Conroe. Thing is with that.....the line that has developed conroe kicked amd's K8...the pentium m's were beasts. You're talking at least a 50% increase over the competition.....I just don't see that happening.

The internet revolves around such rumors, regardless of how plausible or possible they are. Everyone calm down before this turns into a fanboy war.

Now, that said, I personally hope that these benchmarks are true, as I'd hate to see AMD go down the drain :).

It make me sad if it's lie's. But i'm surly not going dismiss that it's not possible after all new Mobo new v card new CPU which i am sure they all been made with every thought of performance in mind.

Anyways 3DMarks is not all that anyways best way is to wait till real gaming is tested so at least wait till that info is out before calling people how wrong they are when really none of us actually know.

Well they say AMD's quad will be different than Inte's quad. They say that they didn't glue the cores together like Intel did. Will it be a CPU killer of all time so far? Who knows until we get some screen shots that verify it.

This news could be true, because The INQ does release real information from time to time.

Yes they combined all cores together but really we will have to wait till the facts are there. hopfully for AMD they are on a good thing as we all be kinda up the creak without a padel without AMD BUT then again AMD goes down maybe Samsung would buy it :p...

Benchmark Scores nah
weer you analyze my post completely but you havened understand what i was saying

yes the phenom will be faster than the current intels it has to its superior and next gen chip what ever that may mean

yes if you check the release table of amd you can't find a 3 ghz phenom it is the least experimental don't get my wrong they have the core but not in so high clock the first phenoms will be a 2.00ghz and a 2.2 ghz

yes it might be 4 times faster it is a fast next gen core the c2d was 2 or 3 times faster than the core d

yes it is demo it is tweak to be as fast it cant be. when you go to buy a car it has everything but later when you bough it you can see the difference between the demo and you car( or the vista demo and the reality of windows me 2)

yes if a say i am a fan boy it abolition the fanboysm be cause you now know i am a fan boy and i can' lie,is the same thing if i say i am a lier, if i am i say lies so i am not but if i am not say any lie then i do say lies and the cycle begins

It would be wonderful if this were true but it just seems too good. I'm not a fanboy either way i just like to see good jumps in technology but i really doubt the K10 will be quite THAT good. Though i have to admit i hope it is that good :D

Quote...Shaking hands with Big Blue

IBM and AMD have enjoyed a formal technology collaboration since 2002. That business relationship has proven so mutually rewarding it was extended in 2005 and will continue well beyond 2010.

The connection between the companies? We share underlying breakthroughs in areas of chip design and manufacturing, such as transistors, chip connection, packing, and lithography, which stand to benefit both companies.

It's cool to see AMD having some hi hopes for the future so all you fanboys that like to argue can continue to argue for good reasons! Good stuff, doesn't mean I'm gonna go sell my C2D system since AMD lagged too long before they were a viable option for me in my price range. This looks very promising, and they could once again lead the pack, which will be a good thing, Intel is a huge company and doesn't need to win for too long or they'll get lazy and get taken out hard for a complete CPU Model/Version lifespan again. This will keep them competetive, and AMD will also have to stay competetive so they can gain some financial grounds and success that they need. Then maybe AMD/ATI can share some of that...

I personally don't care if it pwns a conroe or not, but I do hope that it evens out the field a little more. I've read a lot of hype over this chip, let's just home AMD can keep all you hype-fanatics happy. I hope the K10 arcitecture is as amazing as promised, AMD needs it.

It's a 3DMark05 score, not 06.

Is there any chance of running SLI with the RD790?

yes but most likely Nvidia will release a nforce 7 board for intel and amd that will have pci-e but looks like it only crossfire atm for new amd boards
